No, it's not too girly (I hope). I watched all 200 episodes of Sailor Moon + all its movies last semester (+ Angelic Layer).

Layer was awful. I started cheering for all the people she was fighting less than 10 episodes in, but I knew it was in vain. And her mother was an pimento. "Sorry I can't raise you, I'm too busy playing with my angel."

Obviously we have differing opinions on the series. i enjoyed for the cute dolls that brutally fought one another, and for the whole out-of-body, lets pretend that their dolls can send their pain to the hosts/owners and what would happen if the dolls had sex/were "played with" perversion i had with that thought when i was younger and had a more creative mind.

According to shounen/shoujo, any situation, no matter how crazy, can (and will) be overcome with willpower, resolve, and luck. In Layer, it was mostly luck. There's no other explanation for why she did so well.

As a sidenote, I still cannot believe that Layer is shounen. I'd bet over and over again that it's shoujo.

CLAMP tends to make stuff that tries to appeal to many demographics.

Yeah, I watched the first few episodes of Kai as well. Would have been pretty badass, if they didn't censor it. Not that it was too much of a difference, but still disappoint. All in all, they fixed the pace of it (they had to if they wanted to shrink the series to what, 100 episodes?). If I don't have anything else to do, I may download the whole series and watch it to see how they did with some parts (particularly Namek...)

U missed out, the 1st time Goku goes Super Sayan is prob. one of the greatest moments in tv history.

Sorta wish they remade DBZ with 'better animation' instead of just making it shorter, it looks the same to me -shrugs-. Goku's fighting Frieza (100% power) at the moment in Kai. The pace is pretty fast, at the rate they're going, they'll reach Cell some time by the end of May.

It was supposed to be remade with better animation, but it overall looks the same. They did redraw some scenes though (most notably the scenes they had to censor a little if they wanted it to air on TV).

I never liked this character but the story was still good, so meh. I'm not really down with the naked children business. I watched some of NBC's "To catch a predator" this reminds me of that funny show.
