you talked to a dude somewhere, and depending on what answer he gave you, determined the value of that stat; and immediately after that, he'd say "Incidentally, I find x stat to be the most superior," or something along those lines.

take what he said last, add in what he said first to that, and BLAMO, IV is determined.

I was hoping for a method that was... quick? "IVs and EVs" tab, or something. Slipping color into stats works nice and quickly for natures, although they should stand out more and have a key somewhere... or pineapple it. Go with a Plus and Minus sign. xP
Talking to someone to find the IVs of every pokemon just seems like it would take foreverrrr. No love for new players either, just people like me who hoar sites like Serebii. (I have 4 Serebii and 1 Marriland tabs open atm. :|)

Well, a certain way.

1) Save.
2) Catch a Pokemon. IT MUST NOT BE EV TRAINED.
3) Feed it a lot and lot of Rare Candies. The more the better.
4) Enter the information into here.

If it's bad, just restart without saving. It just sucks since you lose a lot of Rare Candies if you have a good IVed Pokemon.

When I played through Pearl, I felt obligated to plant berries everywhere, thanks to the stupid Berry checker. I have like 200 of each EV-resetting berry, so I just use those if I'm not sure what EVs my Pokemon have.

http://www.serebii.net/games/iv-calcdp.shtml is a nice IV checker and stat calculator. It calculates both ways - you can plug in the IVs and EVs you think your Pokemon have, and calculate the stats at different levels to make sure you trained them correctly.

I expected the game to come out in May, just like Platinum did last year, so I went ahead and bought Spirit Tracks(which I don't regret).

At least I can bring up the patience. If I were like Eric Cartman I would've freaked out by now. Just going to hope the weather the coming week is nice so I can enjoy it, and play some Disgaea(DS), play a little guitar, and I believe a friends birthday is soon too, so probably a party too. Enough stuff to do.

Actually, she'll give you Choice Items and stones from time to time. I believe it was either a Moon Stone or a Thunder Stone I got from her, and I got a Choice Scarf. Feels good, man.
