Where are you guys at on your Heart Gold/Soul Silver playthrough?
Yaaay, got Raikou and Latias. Just need Articuno, Moltres and Entei and I've got all of the single game (no trades, no internet connectivity) legendaries.

Just delt with Ho-oh. After around 40 Pokeballs (Cool people use these. Ultrabals are for noobs), all at 1 HP (False Swipe please), he did not obey. So I KO'd him with my Adamant Red Gyarados's Waterfall. Went to do the Safari guy's thing and just showed him a sandshrew.

Now I look at my team and cry. Level 44 Walrein, 39 Scyther, and 39 Gyarados. I struggle to take out Magnemites... I know level 40s will have trouble with the E4. I'd like a team of 50s or so. Dx Team needs a make over. I plan on evolving Scyther into Scizor sooner or later, but it still sucks.

Anyone got ideas?

My 'starter' was Totodile, but he's level 6 on my Diamond or something. Swapped him for Walrein (as an egg) as soon as I could trade. :|
Some nice Pokemon in the Safari Game, but it also seems like a lot of work, so I'd rather not go catching random stuff from there until I'm fairly sure I'll use it.

Skimming through the previously linked page, and I'm just going to throw Pokemon that interest me into a list.
Seviper
Zangoose
Houndoom
Shiftry
Tauros
Cacturne
Aggron
Chimecho
Toxicroak
Steelix
Kangskhan
Drapion
Flygon
Hippowdon

add onix, turn it into Steelix. alternatively, turn Scyther into Scizor at either 21 or 53. movesets and all are almost identical except for three levels, two of which are these. at 21, its either wing attack or metal claw, and at 53 its air slash or iron head to choose from.

I just beat Red a little while ago. Does anyone know how to get the Hoenn starters? According to Serebii, Steven Stone appears at the Silph Co., but the entire building seems to be empty.

Edit: Never mind, I had to talk to Oak for the Kanto starters first.

Went and evolved Scyther with a Metal coat I had laying around on Diamond. I like having Wing Attack, and Air slash is pomegranate on a physical attacker, so I'll probably teach him Iron Head when he hits 53. STAB'd 80 base attack with Scizor's stats. <3 X-Scissor and Night Slash also appeal to me, so I'm not sure if I should drop False Swipe (God send for catching anything, but otherwise crap), or Wing Attack (Its nice to have a flying attack without Rock, ice, and electric weakness)

Now that's interesting.... Thanks for the heads up.

Had the hardest time catching Ho-Oh yesterday. Took me about an hour and a half of Ultra Ball spamming.

I didn't have any status-inflicting moves aside from my Pikachu's Discharge, which has a 30% chance of Paralyzing. After countless rematches, I finally caught him. ^________________^;;

Yes.

I've gotten 8 Johto badges, Fuchsia City, Cerulean City, Celadon City, and Vermilion City. I remember in Gold and Silver I had to wake up the Snorlax with the Pokegear, but I don't think I can do that now. I've tried.

Go to the Power Plant and turn the power back on, then head to Lavender Town to get the PokeFlute.

You wake up Snorlax with the Radio in HGSS, not a flute. Not sure what you have to do to turn the radio on.

Pokeflute expansion card, same thing.

I've beaten Red (did that on Wednesday), just have to catch Raikou, Entei, and the rest of the Pokemon. I will then finish and transfer over my Battle Frontier d00dz.

Oh yeah, I got Entei earlier while not paying attention.

Just caught Suicune in a pokeball. :3

Oh hello Articuno. You were a peach, but you're in a classic pokeball.

Caught most of the in-game legends, only Entei and Raikou left. Then it's off to grind for the elite 4 and then Red.
