Go to Eterna City. In one of the houses a guy will give you an Excavation Kit. Use that to enter the underground. Once underground, you will find holes in the walls (indicated by sparkles on the screen when you click on the touch screen or when you are nearby them (on the top screen)). Move up next to the holes and click on them. You can then use tools to dig out items. Commonly, you'll find icy rocks.

Going underground made it so much fun with other people with the game. I loved that feature.

My old friends still play pokemon, and my brother and I usually get the game set (ie. Silver for me, Gold for him) so we can play together.

I can't live without a Piplup, a Riolu, and Chimchar (Yes, i'm starting with Chikorita despite all the suckage.) I remember I had three Sinnoh pokes and three Johto originals during the E4 battle.
