Pokemon used to be a good show

It may be hard to believe now but this was true once upon a time. It had a plot and everything. In my opinion, the show started going downhill some time after Johto.

Team Rocket was threatening.
Ash and co. seem to get smarter after every episode.
Ash actually caught wild Pokemon
Meowth was not a complete tool

Wat I really do not like is that the makers of the show keep robbing Ash and co. of character developments that they learned from very early on.

example: recent episodes

Ground pokemon appears.
Ash: pikachu use thunderbolt on it!
Brock: No Ash that wont work.
Ash: Durrr, I forgots

within a couple of episodes

Ground pokemon appears:
Ash: Lets see, I have a grass type and a water type, I think I will use, Pikachu Thunderbolt!!
Brock: I already told you that does nothing
Ash: ZOMG I thought it would work this time!!

And this just keeps happening over and over again, how many years has Ash been doing this!?!!

The only ones who have been consistent are Jessie and James b cuz all they have to do is try to catch Pikachu each time. Theres only a couple of episodes that focus on their backstories but compared to wat happens to the thinking power of everyone else they appear to be geniuses!

Why did you double post and not just make your original post detailed enough to spark discussion?

I don't know much about the Pokemon series, Pikamemnon. Tell me more!

Lets see.. Pokemon in a nutshell.

In the show, ppl can use Pokeballs to catch animals around them(Pokemon) and get them to do what they say. Ppls Pokemon can fight other ppls mons in rock/ paper/ scissors type duels. In the show Ash starts with an electric type(Pikachu) and is soon joined by Misty(only water) and Brock(only Rock types).

Yes... U are referring to the anime before it lost its soul. Ash's Pikachu is special and is able to overcome his weakness sometimes.

Much Later in the series Pikachu is somehow made to be much weaker than he should be and cannot even defeat enemies that he could have beaten at an earlier point. Its still a good show before they start messing stuff up.

I thought almost every single episode sucked. Sure, they were great when I was a kid, but Ash is an idiot :3.

The Pokemon manga (Pokemon Special) is great though.

That is a very nice read. Who is to say that coma Ash should ever leave his dream world? And a coma would explain a lot of the silly mistakes that happened over time.

But for that theory to work we would have to ignore a few things:

If Ash wanted to swing that way, I can think of no better chance for a bromance than to hook up with his pal Richie but after the tournement is over they go their seperate ways.(and that takes Richie far out of context)

Pokemon trainin starts at 10. How much sex drive does a 10 yr. old boy have? Not much

Jessie and James were off the wall before meeting Ash(illustrated by James's rose in the early ep.s) their behavoir has nothing to do with him. Except chasing after Pikachu gives them something to do.

Their entire civilazation is built around Pokemon and Pokemon type products. Big stadium events, salons and items for sale. Its more likely that the Pokemon socialism is masterminded by a large company in order to make money.

The lightning strike in question saved Ash's life, had Pikachu not done that they both would have been pecked to death by the Spearows.

Now correct me if i'm wrong... but as far as I'm aware the pokemon anime isn't actually based off a manga (and only barely off the games) ..... By that definition, it's either all filler or not at all

's well, that sounds right. When I say filler I just mean they do not move the story forward nor accomplish anything of value.

I liked it, I rewatched the whole first season, and I still love Team Rocket.. I used to dream of a game as playing as them, but that will never happen cause bad guys never win I watched half of the Orange League and got bored. Same old, Same Old. I really enjoyed some parts of it though, but Ash just drives me nuts. I like Pokemon Chronicles, some of those episodes were enjoyable but I lost interest as soon as the original voice actors went Kaput, I loved James' VA and Jesse's and Ash's they all fitted nicely, guess thats what happens after 10 years. After they left my childhood nostalgia of it went bye-bye and the show went bye-bye from my interests
