Can't patch beyond Map.wz?

I have two problems, actually..

1) The patching process goes fine until it stops in its tracks at the beginning of 3/3 (Map.wz.). I deleted MS and am in the process of reinstalling, which brings my second problem:

2) My download rate is CRAWLING. I have a broadband connection, normally 3 or 4MB/sec, but I've been downloading at anywhere from 60kb/s to 120kb/s for over an hour now. Usually I'm done in about twenty minutes...why is this happening, and is there anything I can do to fix it? :/

Not to suggest this is the case, however, if you've edited your Map.wz file that can be a reason for the patcher getting stuck on it. Also, I believe this was posted on the day of the patch? I re-downloaded MapleStory too and it was going terribly slow - I just put it down to thousands of people patching and downloading at the same time.
