Hidden Knock-Back modifyer?
#1
Many many patches ago immobile targets such as goby houses and the like were would go into a KB animation if the dmg was high enough. But this was changed so such targets would never go into the animation (except in special cases like when jr. Newts are frozen by ice). Targets that cannot be frozen would then thereby never go into the KB animation, even if the dmg was far greater than necessary to cause the KB.

However, for a while I have noticed that Bullseye (maybe also Homing) have unusual KB characteristics and will cause such KB animations to appear on immobile targets such as Zak, Pianus, jr. Newts, and so on. Has anyone else who plays/has seen a corsair noticed this oddity? And does anyone know why this seems to only occur with this skill? I have an SS of a time I caused the KB animation to appear on Pianus w/ BE, but I'm new to using forums so I'm learning as I go Eek.

Actually, I have noticed this at HT and Zak arms. I brought it up to Steve (Lachrymus) but he didn't know why either. I had thought to post it here, but I kept forgetting.

I second this guy's investigation. I'd like to know why Homing is the only attack that can KB big monsters anymore.

Spamming BE doesn't cause the KB animation to appear always; similar to how in pap it doesn't show the KB animation always while attacks are over 10,000 dmg (KB req.) (Pap will still keep casting magic/summon while being kbed, and will only show the KB animation if it wasn't doing anything in the first place or idling, or atleast it seems that way)

Noticed this long ago. I love doing it at zak and KBing each body for lols

Don't really know why it does it, but it's cool nonetheless

The "Homing" skill for Evans also does this, if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah, Izzy showed this to me. We were able to set Leprechauns in NLC to their knock-back animations.

I have never used apples in Zak before unless I'm in a group that provides them (I don't Apq or ever feel like using apples in Zak because I don't feel they help that much) but I had recently traded a skill book for an apple and I felt like using it in Zak to demonstrate the KB on Zak.

On an unrelated note all the helms it dropped were below average, exp is still nice though.
