Get your facts straight.Oh sorry for being exited on bl when you were on it I only was off ms for a bout 6 months and was happy to get to talk to everyone again f3 And if you havent noticed Sarah I smega way less then most of the smega hoars out there. So get the sand out of your panties and calm the pineapple down.

You keep making that excuse "I just came back and was excited", but I think you're forgetting that we share a lot of common buddy list members and I've often seen them telling you to shut up as well. To quote Isaac, "Thanks for making me regret signing on, Chip."

Anyway, you just admitted to downloading hacks which means it's impossible to trust your beliefs as to how you got attacked.

Think it was S-A-D-L-S-T-I-C, I don't remember. I have an SS of him and my Hermit in a chat though, but I already posted that in another thread, meh.

I like your signature, Sarah.

So you won't trust him about how he got hacked but you'll trust him that he downloaded hacks?
And at that, you don't think that you would be able to trust someone who openly admits they downloaded hacks? If they openly admit they downloaded hacks, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't beat around the bush about HOW they were hacked.

ASSUMING this is true (I'm still sort of skeptical. This is coming from the person who spammed the Sleepywood thread with complete crap. >.>) I wonder if he knows about the database exploit. It doesn't seem like he would, based on his method of hacking, but with a hacker of his caliber, you never do know.

Admitting downloading hacks = fact.
Believing someone hacked you = speculation unless he sat there, watching Ecko log onto his account.

He's openly admitting to his belief of how he got attacked but he has no proof that Ecko actually did it short of an IP check or some other guaranteed source. A lot of people claim to have been hacked by ecko yet only a portion of them actually were. It's like the Taliban. They do terrorist attacks but it doesn't mean all terrorist attacks are perpetrated by them, even if they claim they are. It's an easy way of instilling fear, by using a feared and well known presence.

Yeah, and thanks to Nexon there's a nice list of login ID's floating around. The only good part about it is that they don't know if the ID is to a valuable account or a mule account, so hopefully most hackers will consider it a waste of time.

I'm so glad a GM got hacked. Heart Maybe now Nexon will finally start taking some action. Unfortuantly they'll probably fire idiot 1 and hire idiot 2 and forget to notice that the pw, pin, pic, or w/e were all bypassed.

hacker - a programmer who breaks into computer systems in order to steal or change or destroy information as a form of cyber-terrorism
(http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&clien...d=0CAYQkAE)

This guy can't program nor hack into anything. He's not even good at making graphics. He steals other peoples work and plaster "ecko" all over it. If anything he's just a script kiddie.

I told people this in the beginning, he isn't a hacker. Goddamn. He steals scripts that's pre-made. Ok, kudos that he knows what he's doing, but he didn't come up with it himself, he just knows how to apply it.

They give multiple definitions for a reason. I know of some people who view themselves as this definition of hacker:

a programmer for whom computing is its own reward; may enjoy the challenge of breaking into other computers but does no harm; "true hackers subscribe to a code of ethics and look down upon crackers"

Quote:Today, mainstream usage mostly refers to computer criminals, due to the mass media usage of the word since the 1980s. This includes script kiddies, people breaking into computers using programs written by others, with very little knowledge about the way they work. This usage has become so predominant that a large segment of the general public is unaware that different meanings exist.

New definition, more modern.

So many definitions ; Spys, crackers, hackers, watchmen, cyber-terrorist, etc. Book-definitions are the ones I usually stick to, and not made-up internet ones that little children assumes would be correct. God, if every teenager out there could copy a script from a site and copy-pasta it onto something else and manage to steal resources from something else, that person must be a professional hacker! Gosh!

Makes it seem as if hacking is bad, when it's not. It all depends on what you do with it. A knife is good for cutting food, but can be used for other things as well.

Not that I disagree with your point, Ecko is no hacker. Most Maplers use the words "hacker" and "thief" interchangeably. Not sure if it's like this for other MMOs, but I'd imagine the terminology came from someone who realized it sounds much less embarrassing to say their account was hacked away from them rather than stolen through normal means.

In any case, I don't get too bothered by it.
