IP banning on maple, due to Password changing.

Well, I thought I would change all my passwords at work since they have the game port blocked on their firewall so I can't play there anyway. (Who cares if I get ip banned from someplace I can't even play?) I successfuly changed pw on all my accounts without getting ip banned by logging into different terminal servers and doing 4 accounts (repeat 4x). Then when I came home I was ip banned after logging into the 8th account (though idk how many my husband logged into - at least 1 for sure, maybe 2).

I suspect they ban you for logging into multiple accounts as well. While this might help for people doing the mass hacking, it pisses me off. >.<

AMEN and now it looks like even if we are able to get a new ip or un ip banned we will have to provied email verification for all of the accounts... that will kiss about half my accounts goodbye.

All this time spending on making the maple login much better causes more problems than it actually solved. Fail.

I made mule accounts because:
1. my brother, my cousin, myself don't have enough space to fit ALL the stuff we get COMBINE.
2. I didn't want my Bowmaster to have a Buccaneer on it at the same time. What if i wanted SE on my buccaneer?
3. seriously mules are necessary when all you get is lol3slots. now that they come with 5 automatically, i think it should be good. Hell some of my mules turned into higher leveled mules that i go on periodically when i feel like it.

Does Not Make Sense.

I'm wondering how this will turn out in the near future with say shared mules and multiple IPs logged on an accounts history. Or not even shared, let's say you spend time in different states playing or you go on vacation etc.... When I think of shared mules I mostly think of rep mules- I know in my circle of friends we will share rep mule families solely made for rep..and the odd mass faming as ppl need/want it. Or for ppl like me - I live in a tri-state area that will involve 3 different geographical locations on my accounts. I live in one state, commute 90 minutes to work in another state and my bf lives in another state 50 minutes drive away... Also I'm often in DC and Virginia another 45-60 minute drive away and play maple at friends homes there.

I'm wondering if nexon will take some IP rule stance sort of like neopets does with their heinously fast to freeze accts rules. Some of us live in areas where we will play in multiple locations regularly enough that it could flag the acct or something... Just speculation but I wish nexon had a QnA session or something for things like this so it's spelled out clearly in advance. Not all of us live in a big state like California. Those in tri or quad state areas can spend time in a number of states every week/month as if it's the neighborhood right next door... They already do a block on paypal nx purchasing when I try to charge at work giving the geographic block thing. I'd be sad to get it for just logging in!

This is the first time I hear about IP banning on GMS. If I don't mistake, that kind of ban was reserved to the worse hackers.

How many people could fit all of their crap on one account if they maxed out all the slots, etc? Curious, as my mults are more for new jobs than space. That said, the 12(?) slot max isn't enough for me to play with all of the new jobs I might want to use. :[

i just realized that i sign in at different IP addresses on my accounts because i live in a dorm room instead of at my house now... So sad D:

One good thing has come of this now. My hacked-once CB has been secured for the most part now. I have finally make him a Shadower!

This hardly matters anymore. Don't get me wrong, I agree with you that the hacking reductions are indeed a good thing, but Nexon's right:wrong ratio is horrid. I mean, it's to the point now where Nexon can't even patch up their own game without breaking something. Every time we have a patch, it's extended every hour for some dumbass reason, and when it's done, half of our skills don't work right, we're missing some crucial quest, or the game just disconnects us in random places. Good lord, Nexon, this is your response to hackings? You're too lazy to get in and do actual GM work, so you take the lazy man's way out and just ban IP's so you don't have to do anything. I've hated Nexon for quite some time now, but now my hatred is turning into complete, un-adultered malice. I enjoy playing the game, unlike most, but these constant screw-ups are making it really hard for me to stay.

I'm quite sick of coming in after a patch, only to find that I'm STILL being disconnected because of Dragon's Breath + Blizzard and that my Blizzard/Frostprey skills don't freeze 100% anymore. I've honestly done some random brainstorming on just what could cause a company to suck so much ass, but I end up at the same place every time: there is no explanation except pure laziness and apathy. They are money-whoring asswipes that don't give a damn about their players. From what I see, they code like freshmen in college, they're slow as Michael Moore on a treadmill, and they're just straight up hypocrites. For [f]ucks sake, Nexon, take give-a-damn lessons from Blizzard and Valve. Gah, maybe this reply goes in the angry dome, but goddamnit I 'm so sick of this, I really am.
