Lvl 100 top/bottom combo, or lvl 120 overall?

We've all seen the pictures in Scroll Lock. You know what I am talking about, the 40 stat clean lvl 120 makered overalls. However, I haven't seen that many people use Makered top/bottom combos since Maker came out. I've been thinking about it, and I am sorta surprised at that.

If you maker a lvl 100 top and a lvl 100 bottom, you get to use 3 jewels on EACH. So, that's 5 str and 5 dex and 5 acc/speed on the top, and another 5 str, 5 dex and 5 acc/speed on bottom. Furthermore, the top and the bottom EACH gets 2 hammers. So that's 7+7+2+2=18 slots total, over the overall's 12 total. Scrolling the bottom seems pretty straightforward -- wait for the Vega scrolls to come back and then use 60% bottomwear Dexs. At 90% each scroll, you should get about 1 failure. The top is a bit more tricky because you have to use 70s on Makered gear, but I think even a non-makered top can still get like 25-27 stats easy.

Am I getting something wrong, or is this basically accurate? Thanks!

Please note that I haven't gotten the Maker skill yet, and I just recently came back to Maple so I don't know Maker all that well.

You can only put 2 jewels on 100 equips.

Equips under level 108 only get 2 gems, if I remember right.
Other than that, I've seen some nice Maker'd top/bottom sets in Scania's fm. o: The 120 overall's just sexier in my opinion.

Yeah but 2 on top and 2 on bottom is 4 total, to 3 on the lvl 120. and 18 slots against 12 slots... I still don't see why the lvl 120 overall is so sexy.

the reason why overall is better is because each overall scroll can add up to 5str for a 30% and 2str for a 60% over 12 slots, versus 9slots worth of 3str for 30% and 2str for 70%s. now you can also scroll a bottom for dex but that wont make a big difference for your damage.

if you would perfectly chaos scroll a top and bottom for 5 str and 5 dex each time then top and bottom would surely win, however this is not realistic. godly gear may partially rely on good clean stats, however the most important thing is good 30% scrolling if you truely wish to acchieve high str. in this case overall wins over top/bottom hard.

also may i note that a clean makered lvl 120 overall, and a clean makered lvl 100 top/bottom set doesnt make a big difference in stats alltogether so its all about the scrolling

i prefer the top/bot simply because it's a lot easier to get speed out of it.
Between more gems and better scrolls for speed the top/bot is a clear winner for me.

For Str potential the overall wins. Like a lot of things in this game though having the best potential doesn't translate to being the best choice for the average player.
