OK, so here's the question, have you been hacked after changing to the use of PIC?
I'm not asking if the use of PIC is a good idea or not, I just want to know if the hacking have ceased or not.
If you have been hacked, do you know if you were key-logged and how simple/complex was your PIC?

This poll might be a bit premature, but as long as it doesn't fall off the front page too soon, you could get a decent sample.

As long as Nexon isn't storing the PICs in the same place as the usernames/passwords I don't think anyone should be getting hacked anymore.

I kno of a friend that was hacked alreadi after he was using PIC. I believe he was keylogged, not too sure how simple his PIC was thou.
A lot different to the mass hacking that has happened in past, as it seem to be targeted. The hacker actually talked and faked to be his bro.

I think its too early to judge. Wait for like a month or so then do the poll.

If these hackers already had everyones info, it would still be possible to hack someone and probably lose the account because the hackers could just make up their own PIC for the account. (Talking about inactive players of course)

Someone was, and deleted sadly.
But that's because the email was first hacked. He was hacked in ~november when everyone else was, it's not implausible that the email was taken down, and any other sensitive info to crack the email.

I don't think this poll would have any value unless we already have a poll showing what percentage of people got hacked before the implementation of PIC. Soo... do we have that?

I asked around abit and seems most people thought pic was such a bother they all use 111111 or 222222 or so on. If any people will be hacked, it'll be people with those kinds of pics. There'll be alot of people with all number pic's...

Got the "your shop is in a video on site mmopixels.com" keylogger spam in my shop tonight, so I guess the introduction of PICs hasn't made keylogging hackers give up, yet(?).

I'm liking how the poll results look right now. Does this mean we can finally log off without worry of getting everything stolen?

Nothing is ever set in stone or final. People will always try to exploit. It may be like this for now, but that can change. So for now, relax while you can. You never know. With things being more technologically advanced, I assume there will a PIC-cracker out within a year's time.

At least, Khoi, it means those idiots (forgive me if I'm not supposed to be pointing fingers at anyone here) who previously were causing unceasing havoc have stumped upon a brick wall. That's only one possible theory though, supposing they were lucky idiots who simply picked up our login credential database like a kid picking up a lollipop on the ground but can't proceed to remove the cover. If they still have access to the database I don't see how any newly added layers of security would have helped.
That, or the police got their asses in jail for good. Yes, haters are gonna hate.
So it's best to keep doing whatever counter-measures you have been doing if you want to stay somewhat safe, but sleep better at night knowing that the hacking has come to a temporary halt for now and pray it won't be you who'll set the gears back in motion.

I know for a fact they do not have direct access to servers. Do you know why I think this is? It's because if that was the case, they would have targeted all lv 200's immediately. Think about it. Why go for the weaker people? Or, why is it a random hit-and-run? They don't have direct access. They got it somewhere, but not directly. You're also right, that if they did have direct access to servers, that they could indeed bypass PICs. On the other hand, the PICs could be allocated to different servers (physical), and not virtual. If they were on different partitions, they could still obtain information, I would assume.
EDIT: For example, a virus/spyware got into your computer, and it infects everything. It doesn't only infect '1' drive, it infects all drives. Unless it's only designated to hit only 1 drive, which is unlikely. >_>

This argument has been used many times and shot down many times. Here we go again.
Think about it. Maybe only one account in 1000 is that of a super-rich high level player. If the hackers have a stolen list of many thousands of ID's, hashed passwords, and PINs, do you think they can tell at a glance which accounts are the rich ones just from the account names, so that they can raid those first? I don't see how.
And even if rich accounts are on their list, that doesn't mean that they happen to be the ones with weak passwords. In fact I would imagine high level players would in general have stronger passwords than average.
All the hackers can do is work down their list, trying each account in turn. Many will have un-crackable passwords. Most of the rest will be poor and low-level. Only occasionally will they catch a big fish.
Edit: Note, I'm not saying the PICs are not helping. If the hackers cannot access the PICs in the same way that they apparently could get PINs etc., then this method of hacking will be stopped at least for a while.

PICs can be keylogged, cant they? Besides, they probably are betting on you checking the email connected to the account and so on and so forth.
