What makes a guild "good"?
#1
What do you guys think makes a guild good?

To me, it means, they hang out together, help each other, have high levels, are there for each other, GPQ/Zrun, and have minimal spam/drama.

Also, added bonuses are giving old equips to each other and not ripping each other off when they know one needs something, a nice name/logo, and higher levels.

Do you guys think I should quit my guild and search for a new one?

Out of a record 20 ppl online when I advanced to 3rd job yesterday, nobody responded when i asked to buy a dark crystal, nobody congradulated me, and nobody was there.. plus we never hang out.

When we GPQ, which is only semi-often, we always have a problem rounding up peopld, especially a level 30-.

Close knit community with enough high levels or connections to high levels that boss frequently.

Depends on my character's class and how often I play my character. What I mean by that is, at lower levels, I'll put some of the characters that I play the most into a close-knit guild that I already know people in. Hence the reason for my Aran + NW being in Scandalous (my former guild). However, I put my lv 133 Night Lord in higher up guilds, specifically for Zakumming, HTing (some time in the future), CWKPQ, etc.

I play each of my own characters differently.

I'd say talkative, fairly big and has some higher levels so that boss runs are possible.

I also like people that are friendly and don't take maple TOO seriously.

You edited the post after they posted (well, some of them) Rolleyes.

Stay in it until you find a better one.

No, It was in there before. I just added some line breaks to make it stand out from the rest.

Dont accuse me of something I didn't do.

Got a screenshot of it not being there?

I'd say wait until you see someone recruiting for a 70+ guild. Also, I'm in the weird here. I don't like chatting in game. I hate text chatting. If anyone wants to talk to me they have to get on vent.

ones that boss a lot. wonderful awesome sauce when you can get scarlion/zakum helmets and skills for free and make a profit selling them. Especially with karmas now.

Just make sure that the organizer doesn't have a somewhat arrogant personailty and acts immature at times, then you get into fights where people harass you to the point of threatening to hack the guild and all the players in it (yes this happened recently).

Alliances with pro guilds work too Smile

I said it was a joke :f6: (and it was Paint lol).

Smegas aren't really that good, actually. Those guilds die off quickly. I'd look at some of the guilds in the Windia subforum or Sleepywood Windia subforum.

It really depends what level -you- are. If you're not near 4th job yet alot of bossing guilds probably won't add you. Bossing isn't everything in this game though. Join one that has active people or one you have a friend in. Don't just join one to get into boss runs because it never ends well. Don't be annoying, don't try too hard to get into a guild and make friends because honestly it shouldn't be a hard thing to do. If you ask to join a guild, and are declined, move on.

Small guilds aren't a bad thing either. Normally a smaller guild means everyone knows each other better, which makes it easier to talk to others.

IMO, joining a guild to make friends is a hard thing to do. It's easier to make friends and then ask one if it would be possible to join one of their guilds for a bit. Or if they ask you to join then that's cool too. Just remember nobody likes someone who begs or keeps bothering someone to get into a guild.

For me, it's active, friendly, close-nit, bosses, hang out, intelligent, and my #1 doesn't try to always sell something in the guild or alliance chat.

Honestly, I haven't been in a guild I liked since I disbanded mine, TwilightKeyz (before anybody had heard of twilight). Mostly it's because I can't stand people trying to merchant in the guild chat and people spamming nothing but "BUYIN LEECH!"

Eh, I suppose a "good" guild is one where the members getting along/know each other, and some occasional guild activies (bossing, GPQ, and I guess maybe some random quizzes? One of my oldest guilds had these). Most of the people in my guild seem to get along, although we are lacking GPQ. I, as well as other juniors can't seem to find the time to do this. :|

This bothers me also.
My guild recently allied and I can't stand it. Someone is always trying to sell something.

The best guild I've been in was a relatively low-lvl guild with a bunch of regulars who were talkative. Might have been made better because I had free reign to kick anyone who was too annoying.

Only active guild that I was able to contact in windia was koopaforce, but they almost never GPQ or boss, aren't talkative, just lost 80% of their members, and from what I get the impression of, not active.

"Good" guilds are really what specific individual wants, I would say it is hard to exactly map out what a good guild is in this case. For instance, you see some guilds have level restrictions, while others do not. Both are rational, since levels of players are important for party-training or bossing for the level restriction guilds, and while guilds with no level restrictions just want a bunch of friends to chat with and have fun. There are many aspects to a guild as stated already, but all that depends on how an individual fits in with the atmosphere and mood of the guild (Or a guild that matches mostly with an individual's preferences).

I was once in a guild that had quite a good background along with a community, but only that I never liked the politics and how everything is ran, so eventually I just drifted off from that guild, even though back then that guild is the ideal "perfect" guild as some would say. This just demonstrates that a good guild depends on preferences on individuals rather than a "one-size fits all" type of deal.
