Sneak peak of dual blade
#21
This illustration shows that Dual Blade has six stages but the highest job advancement is 4th Job.

1st Job Advancement (Lv. 10) → Rogue
2nd Job Advancement (Lv. 20) → Semi Dualer
2nd Job Advancement + (Lv. 30) → Dualer
3rd Job Advancement (Lv. 55) → Dual Master
3rd Job Advancement + (Lv. 70) → Slasher
4th Job Advancement (Lv. 120) → Dual Blader

 Spoiler

OT: im not sure if i like this new class or not...im gonna wait for more solid info before making a judgement

Takebacker Wrote:But the text released from nexon themselves says it's an adventurer. :f6:

They wouldn't spend money making the image to say "ADVENTURER HOLY S'HIT" if it wasn't an adventurer. o.o

Can't read Korean and can't rely on Spadow what's a girl to do???

But if that's really what it says then HUH I guess. For this time I'd be legitimately worried for the older adventurer classes. Who's going to want to play ugly old classes with dated skills and no story when in the same branch you've got a fancy shiny new class that preforms in a manner that's completely superior.

Huh.

-individual story
-unique skills
-seperate UI

The only way I can see him being an adventurer is he never had anything to do with fighting the Black Magician.

Pretty interesting twist and I'm liking the flashy skills. One thing that seems odd though is in two of the screen shots a tiger is running around in time temple? Is that a pet, summon or was it put there to screw with us?

That's an event KMS has currently, for the year of the tiger I think. There's like 3 kinds and they spawn randomly in all monster maps. We have to take pictures of them, wait half an hour, then we get a time limited shoulder equip (2 all, 2 att/m.att, some other stuff).

Because if they grouped it with adventurers, they couldn't make separate CS storage.

I wish the 4th job advancement would be called "Slasher" instead of "Dual Blader" Sad

I haven't seen anyone bring up this fascinating part yet:
Spadow Wrote:A few questions were asked and of course those behind MapleStory answered. Here are two questions that I found surprising:

Q: How many characters can we expect?
A: Two characters are already prepared. One characters is a Hero (I guess the next Hero will be indeed an Archer) and the other character is related to the Black Magician.
Currently they haven’t decided a launch date for these two new jobs.
A playable class that serves the Black Magician? Awesome.

In regards to the Dual Blade class, this class has proved to be awesome. Dual wielding class as we predicted it; and made clear enough by the name too- and I'm loving the graphics so far. I wonder how dual wielding will play out. As for damage, we'll just have to wait for more on this class to be released.

Spadow Wrote:From looking at the data and the character selection screen, it is an Adventurer. But to be honest.. I am not really sure.
Other people believe it’s a Hero character. We’ll just have to wait and see~

Lets look at what we have here.
-Unique Cash shop
-Different job system
-Separate entry on the "race select" screen

-Job ID of adventurer
-Text on the race selection screen is the same of an adventurer
-Green background on race select screen, just like adventurers
-Named as a class, rather than a single person

Really, I don't know what to think...

Actually, at this point that seems like a pretty reasonable suggestion. They could have just left the thief class alone, but they added a new branch. In order to fund this new branch, they need to separate them from normal characters. They were complaining and bitching about not making money off pirates (their fault, release more CS weapons for them and you'll make money). It only makes sense that if they're going to make a new adventurer, they'd need to make sure their money that went into designing it doesn't go to waste.

Remember, unlike GMS, they have perma CS items over there. By making players buy new outfits for each character, they get more money.

I just wish GMS didn't decide to rip off their players by doing the same thing when they don't have such a system. I'm hoping they'll take my suggestion I sent in to remove that shit, but I doubt it.

Following that logic, unless they completely skip Pirates, that would mean that the class associated with the Black Magician is a pirate.

lol at Ultimate F3

Another class that can attack the entire map... I guess that's another thing that they'll be including in every other job that comes out in addition to critical, and 90% mastery. And it's an adventureer (so far) which kinda looks over powered in comparison to the current adventurers now.

We won't know till they hit test servers, but hell, it seems to be getting to the point where even unfunded new classes can be on par with semi funded adventurers (the ones who can't afford 15 atk workgloves and wonderfully scrolled weapons, have 2-4 watk pink capes, and 100%d items and "normal dex"). Looking forward to more adventurer buffs.

I just read the full article. I have to add a few more points to the clues leading into it being a "hero" class.

-Unique storyline
-Different starting point than adventurers
-Unique skill system (says it has a "bonus" system comparable to that of Aran)

Really, it's like a mix. It seems more like it's leaning on the hero side of the argument, but it's technically classified as an adventurer because it's not a single person (or is it?) and it has an adventurer ID.

1. Moar pirate changes in store?! Glitter
2. Skills are just getting flashier and flashier. I like it. However, will the Dual Blade be as fragile as ranged, or will they have HP comparable to Buccaneers/Arans? It explicitly says they are meant to be a DPS-er, so it's implied they will deal damage that will make people drop their jaws but they are still melee so their HP can't be too low if their damage means nothing. Avoidance =/= surviving melee attacks, because gambling with Death as melee is plain dumb. Hmmm.........

Could be named adventurer just to give thief a 3rd branch like mage/warrior. most likely not but whatever.

...It could just as well be for the very reasons you said above.
They have a different job system than adventurers, even though they most likely are adventurers.
They have a different storyline than adventurers....
etc.
