Story
Our Legendary hero returns! With the Death Egg finally destroyed, and Angel Island back in the sky, Sonic decides it's time to take a break and heads off to explore a new territory on his own. However unbeknownst to Sonic, Eggman has also survived their last encounter, and has begun taking measures to rid himself of our hero. Armed with his signature Speed, super Spin Dash - and powerful Homing Attack, Sonic is ready for an all-new adventure!

I don’t really like the way it looks. I would much prefer if it was 2d rather than 3d. Also not really a fan of the episodic delivery method. I would rather just buy the full game.

Where have you been for the past 10 years? It's depressing to see just how pathetic Sonic has grown over the years, and I definitely wouldn't be picky with a title like this. I've got pretty high hopes for this, and can't really imagine any way they could screw up other than by making it too easy.

I don't believe the new Sonic Team can continue what the original Sonic Team built. Sonic 4 isn't a worthy name for this game at the moment. Unless some drastic changes are made, of course.

So much for the new Sonic Team being 'fans' of the original series. Go back and play those games, then tell me what an original Sonic game is about.

Of course, it looks like a good game, just not something I would consider part of the original series.

Given the title they are giving it, I do sort of have my hopes up for this, but can't help but anticipate to be disappointed. All the same, I'll at least give this Episode 1 a shot when it comes out.


Though this reminds me that I never actually finished those games in the mid-nighties with my genesis. I was too noob a gamer back then and all I knew was Up + Down + Left + Right + A + B + Start. Should really pick up those collection disks and complete it so that after this letdown is released I can completely give up on those old times and this franchise. Hoping to be surprised though.

Meh, the old sonic games were good in the 1990s, however, they don't have anythign explicitly good about them anymore that can't be found in other games. The series moved on already and if they make it significantly slower paced than sonic rush then I don't know if i'll bother.

Either way, i'm not going to get excited or shoot a game completely down without more than 3 second sof footage and one screenshot

What do you mean? There haven't been any new sonic games since Sonic Adventure 2. They just stopped making them after that.

I don't get the hype that some people are getting over this, but what with New Super Mario Bros. Wii's reception, it might actually be decent. I can't wait to see the big gimmick that Sonic Team's been putting into recent titles.

But if you think about it, the Sonic Rush titles weren't awful and still stayed mildly true to the classic formula. Worth a try.

I agree, they should make more games like the originals, but like Nintendo still does with mario, release games like super mario galaxy, with somewhat more plot and more fleshed out gameplay.

As long as those plots involve Dr. Ivo Robotnik, not Eggman, and the only characters are Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, and maybe Amy as long as she's more of the damsel in distress like in sonic CD. No other characters because with few exceptions all the others suck.
