Start MapleStory from the Website

*RAGES* I absolutely HATE having to go to the website when Im on my home connection. It easily takes me ~1 minute for the whole page to load and it will completely shut me out if the page is constantly updating in the background. Hopefully I will be able to close the dam webpage after the game itself launches.

The nexon site works so terribly that I might stop playing if they don't allow us to use a game launcher exe.

Why can't they just change the pre-login advertising page to actually display news and stuff? And the patcher to show uh... patch notes? It used to work like that until they made it 100% ads


If it comes with an ingame character-switch it might be worth it though, as long as it's faster than re-entering my password/pin. And if exiting the game leaves you at the login screen and you don't have to go to the website, log out of the website, log in on the website, and launch your 2nd account...

this is gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay. i dont want to have to go to their cruddy webiste just to play their crappy game.

I could see a lot more DDoS attempts because of this, yeah.

If it did it would have been possible already to do so. Im sure the 64-bit Windows dual log method wont be stopped by this.

Takes me a good 3 minutes for their website to start loading icons for me so its just going to be a pain in the arse. Cant see this being user friendly for those of us who use several different accounts either..

I know the feeling. I'm not a big fan of signing in via a website just to hop onto a game myself; it's more trouble than it's worth.

I believe there were some games where you could do a little hacking in terms of just having the shortcut take the relevant data for logging in and just do it that way. Just couldn't remember the titles; though I do remember pulling it off at one point. In that case, it was a simple hack that one could do with just some normal text editing tools like wordpad/notepad on windows.

I wish I could figure out how to hack this.

I wonder if this means that they'll let you use a change characters button so you don't need to log out every time you want to transfer using storage.

if you log in through the site, it goes straight to the server select screen.

Have you tried hotspot shield it allows me play the other ms all of them. Though i lag when i pick up items only. So it should work.

Well, MS website takes me like 2 seconds to load .. i think the website works fast lol

I'm surprised no one knew this was coming, they've had it like that on Nexon.com for a good while, I figured it was only a matter time, it's not like it's that bad.. It's just starting it from the website, not that big of a deal that some of you are making it out to be.
