Who is KillerRabbit?
KillerRabbit is a Guild Alliance currently consisting of four guilds on the Mardia server of gMS. Those guilds are:
iCastSpells – Magician only guild.
{K}nightsOfNi (Leader - Kristy) – For the Monty Python lovers out there.
DaFrknGuild (Leader - Jason) – Hey, he’s DaFrknPope! He deserves his own guild!
Illustrious (Leader - Jacqui) - Jacqui wanted to have someplace to put her gazillion characters.
Also, props to Ethereal guild. Several members of Ethereal have participated in the project on a regular basis, and I would like to personally thank you for your continued support.

All guilds are currently recruiting. Contact the respective members in game.
Non-members are welcome to attend the runs. This is NOT an alliance exclusive project.

What is the concept behind the run?
We will attempt to kill Zakum two times per week, on Saturdays and Sundays. We are not selling Zakum Helmets, Skill Books, or Equipment. We are a non-profit project. We allow anyone who wishes to join us, as long as they have done their own quests, and they can BENEFIT THE GROUP. Do not expect to come and leech your way through a Zakum run, and then expect us to keep you on the roster. We will not deny you based on class. Be aware that this run is heavily based on sign-ups, so we may not guarantee you a specific skill in your party, be it Heal, or Hyper Body, or Sharp Eyes, etc.

Why would I want to join you, if you’re not a profit run?
Well, we are in this mostly for fun. There are some who want to earn their own helmet, instead of purchasing one. There are also others who just want to go bossing, and have additional time to do so. This is our proposed drop system:

We will generate a loot list for Zakum Helmets, and for all skill books. Additional drops will be distributed randomly among the group survivors, unless it is seriously needed by a member of the group. The point of the project is to distribute Zakum Helmets and skill books to those who wish to fight Zakum for them, and have been unable to get into a group.
Group members can use this opportunity to acquire helmets, and sell them on their own time. Group members can use this opportunity to make a little extra money on the side.
Group members can use this opportunity to work together with a group who will accept them, instead of being shunned by the “elite” groups who have many restrictions to their parties, such as “you cannot use this skill because it will lag, or it will block up the screen, or it will make my nipples hard”.

How would this list work?
We kindly ask that you remove all pet item looters during runs, so that people get a fair chance to acquire drops.
Although we cannot guarantee mis-looting will not happen, we kindly ask that all members respect the list and try to keep their greed under control. Mislooting can happen in any group, and we have no control over who presses buttons. Again, we ask that pet item loots be removed, so that nobody loots out of order.

DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE ATTENDEES, WE HAVE VERY FEW CONTINUOUS RUNNERS. AT THE MOMENT, WE ASK WHO NEEDS ANYTHING, AND THEY GET DIBS. IF NOT, THEN THINGS ARE DISTRIBUTED RANDOMLY, AND THEN RE-LOOTS IF THERE ARE LEFTOVERS. The next is the original proposed system, that was agreed upon by all members:

There will be one list for Zakum Helmets.
Example: Person 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, all need them. So, the list in order, would be 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8.
Person 4 never showed up to the run, and will automatically be bumped down to the bottom of the list. Why? If you choose not to show up to a run unless it’s your turn to loot, then why would anyone show up at all? This is to add incentive for a steady stream of runners.
Persons, 1, 2, and 3, looted. They are automatically re-added to the list, but at the bottom. So now, the new list, for the next run, will be 5,6,7,8,4,1,2,3.
On the next run, 5 loots, 6, loots, 1 didn’t show up. The new list would be 7,8,4,2,3,1,5,6. This gives the people who couldn’t show up somewhat of a fair chance to get helms on future runs, despite not showing up.
A similar list would be drawn up for any skill book that would be requested by a runner. Additional drops may be requested. All other drops that were not requested would be given out randomly, via Duey, to runners. A list of all drops and distributions will be posted in this thread.
NO RUNNER MAY REQUEST MORE THAN ONE ITEM AT A TIME. If you are on the list to loot a Zakum Helmet on the chosen run, you may not request a Skill Book for that run, unless the randomizer Duey’s you the skill book.

How will dying, and/or disconnecting affect the list?
Well, if you died and were unable to be ressurected, we will preserve your spot on the loot list. If you disconnected from the Altar in the middle of the run, and it was not an intentional bail, then your spot will be preserved. If, however, you try to pull the "I'm not showing up to the run unless it's my turn to loot" then you will be ejected from the group. This project is depending on teamwork of players, not greed.

What is the run schedule?
Assuming that the current Zakum list thread is accurate:
We will run every Saturday, at 6pm Eastern (3pm Pacific) on Channel 4.
We will run every Sunday, at 6pm Eastern (3pm Pacific) on Channel 4.
We will reserve the Mardia Zakum schedule until 8pm, just in case real life ends up making the run take longer, or if it starts late.

You are responsible for:
[COLOR="red"]- Assuming that others might use skills that may lag you
- Being able to survive in the event that a specific skill is unavailable in your party
- Knowledge of Zakum, his minions, and how to survive inside the Altar
- Completing your own quests
- Having your own Eye of Fire
- Acquiring your own potions
- Carrying your own Apples / whatever the hell you want to use
- Understanding that we are attempting to work together, and respecting the loot lists[/COLOR]

For those who have no experience with Zakum, I have included this:

1- Finish all three Zakum Party Quests.
a- Receive permission to participate in Zakum quests from your third job advisor (found in El Nath Chief's Residence)
b- Talk to Adonis and do all three quests that he gives you. The first is a maze, the second is a jump quest, and the third requires thirty Zombies Gold Teeth. This will give you permission to enter Zakum's Altar, and 5 Eyes of Fire. You must have at least 1 in your inventory to enter the altar, and I will summon Zakum by using one Eye of Fire.
A full guilde to the Zakum Party quests may be found here. That guide does not have a picture of the map for the key hunting, so you can also use this.

2- The arms look like this:

(Notice how Zakum grasps his tablet strongly, and in his animation, he will stroke his tablet up and down repeatedly. Kinky!)

We will first kill the second to bottom left arm, and the second to bottom right arm, because those are the most annoying. The Bishops and ArchMages will use their super laggy ultimate spamming skills to attack all 8 arms at once, while the others will attack individual arms.

There is a warp at the top left and top right platforms. You can use it to get around the body if you have to.

3- After all 8 arms die, the body becomes active. We will have to fight the body a total of three times before it finally dies, releasing drops.

The best way to defeat the body, is to attack it from the left. Do not touch the body, or it will do 8-9k touch damage. When it attacks, the knockbacks will drive you to the left.

When the third body is about to die, I kindly ask that all members go to the BOTTOM LEFT so that the drops can be recorded, and looted PROPERLY. It would really be a shame if we had mis-loots on the first run.

Additionally, here are a few tips for those with lag issues, or disconnection issues at Zakum:

I myself had similar problems in the past. All I can suggest is what has already been suggested by other posts.

1- Go to the Properties of MapleStory.exe (or the shortcut that you use to activate the program) and make sure you're always running as the administrator.

2- Again, Properties, and make sure you're running in Compatibility mode for Windows XP, Service Pack 2 or 3, depending on the updates and version you're working with.

3- Before your Zakum run begins, restart your computer. Try to give it at least 10 minutes before your team goes into the Altar.

4- Try to get laggy skills casted before Zakum is summoned, so that any potential lag is reduced.

5- Before you go into the Altar, make sure your graphics are all the way to the right, and make sure the box in the system menu that says "Full Screen" is checked. You will see why when you read number 6.

6- THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE. After all the arms die, once the HP bar is visible for the first body, do this: "esc, down, down, enter, left, enter"
This will do the following: Dropdown menu on the bottom right side (change channel will be highlighted), down to scroll to game options, down again to scroll to system options, enter to activate system options, left to change the graphics, enter to confirm"
The reason why you're doing this is not to have lower or higher graphics, but to reset your screen and graphics card. The actual resolution does not matter, just the fact that you're changing it. I myself struggled with this until I finally realized that it was the CHANGE that mattered, not the resolution.

7- After the first body dies, and the HP bar becomes visible for the second body, do the esc, down, down, enter, left, enter trick again. Even if your graphics are not troubling you, do it anyway. The reason why you're doing it at each body change, is because if you wait until things start to mess up, it might not fix the problem during third body. When I forgot to change the graphics at 1st and 2nd body, I had to change the graphics back and forth about 8 or 9 times during 3rd body for it to finally work. The body would keep turining invisible after a few seconds, for about 4 minutes.

8- When third body spawns, once again, do your trick when you can see the HP bar. If for any reason you have to do it again, you will already be at lowest graphics, so after this, you will have to do "esc, down, down, enter, right, enter" to bring it back up, and if you have to do it again, you can do left again, back and forth until the problem is fixed.

Edit: I just remembered! A few months ago, I purchased a new Laptop with Windows 7. After installing MapleStory, I immediately changed the properties to run the program in Compatibility mode for Windows XP. I received a hacking error when I then attempted to run the program. I then decided to try running the program without compatibility mode, and it worked fine. So if you get problems with Compatibility mode, then skip that. It might not be needed after all.

I would like to go on a run to loot magic mastery 10 and flame wheel 10. please message me in game, ign is Hssiss.

I am officially resigning from the project. Everyone else is free to continue the runs, using the KillerRabbit name if they desire. However, all I ask is that whoever is going to take over the organization of the project, please re-create the thread without my character names in it.

I also would like everyone to delete the characters "WasteOfFlesh, MadGodsRage, VomitousMass, AoJMage, AranOutOfPot, and Lern2Evan" from their buddy lists, as I will be deleting my buddy list on all of my characters. I will not answer any questions regarding this matter.
