Ask a Bowman Thread.
I guess you know Maker shoes can pretty easily beat that FS as long as you use both dex and str from them (9 clean + ~3 from leveling + ~3 from scrolls + 6-10 from maker is good), hammering the weapon is also fairly affordable (either with 90% Vega asap, or find some 100%s)

I'd guess, 1) weapon hammers, 2) better shoe, 3) better overall, in affordability. I've seen 40+ stat reverse overalls.

I was just wondering if 11 Pierce has a shorter charge time than 1-10. I know 21 Pierce is where it's at its best but what about 11?

They're all one second.

Okay so i leveled and now i have no idea what to put points into since my build was basically: let's put points into anything that's new cause it's awesome. So here's what i got so far:

11 hurricane
max SE
1 phoenix & DB
12 Expert
2 concentrate

my 3 points into could go into either hurricane or expert imo. the debate is over which one would best help my blood-washed damage (2214-3192 range)

Anything helps Smile

Might seem really nub asking, but I'm kind of stuck up to this point. Frown I know I need to improve everything I have, but I don't know whether to keep moving on (somehow) or stop and upgrade everything. This is what I have:

3 DEX Green Maro
4 STR 2 DEX Red-Lined Kismet
3 ATK WG (Fail, yeah.)
5 STR Lv. 50 Boots
2/1/1/1 White Belt
Average Spiegelmann's Necklace
80 ATK, 1 DEX Rower
Zenmuist Cape
Average Lv. 40 Earrings
1st Lillin's Ring
Junior Adventurer Medal

My range is 489~864, and I have 44 base STR. Like I said before, should I upgrade RIGHT NOW? Or keep trying to level then upgrade? Also, is STD's the absolute best place to be at the moment with my current equips? Or can I go elsewhere as I am?

Sorry if this is the wrong place, and that I couldn't provide screenshots for ease.

Nope. you do not need to urgrade anything u have. that weapon is decent and just about everything else is good enuff for that lvl. if u want thou, get a better wg and 100% that overall ( or wait 3 levels for a tai )

Another good upgrade (a bit costy though) would be to get a zhelm. Unless you plan on just waiting till level 80 and get a scalion helm.

Okay, so I managed to pick up an 8 atk wg. :>

But I don't know exactly where to train now, I recently went to Hibiscus Road 2 and the HP/EXP ratio seems fair with the spawn rates... I'm level 56 now, is there anywhere better or can I be good here until 70? (Or go to WR during 6x on?)

i've been training at tornado corridor on my xbow since ... level 48. xD
i'm 59 now lols, waiting for my nishada to give me that giant boost at 64.

i am a bit more funded than you though xD (+14 blessing from my DrK too) but i've always found that raiders is ridiculous as soon as you can hit them really. ;3
good thing accuracy isn't a problem for xbows...it's pretty annoying being limited by acc on warrior branches :|

of course, then the hard part is getting to tornado corridor xD
priests / rep will get you there, and you can use a thief mule to handle potions xD

Simple question because it's driving me crazy...

Where can I find Bow Expert 20, besides Memory Guardians and FM? >_<

I was doing some calculations on my xbow today. I just found that you need level 21 arrow eruption before it starts outdamaging Iron Arrow on 6 monsters, I found it strange since I thought AE was already good to be used from lower levels, guess it must be true for rangers who have a much poorer 2nd job mob skill.

Anyway, when is it good to start using AE to train instead of IA (other than by the ease of not having minimum range at all)?

Iron arrow is just really strong for a 2nd job skill, it's not that eruption is weak. The range is the main point of eruption. You can really start typhoning at level 1 eruption though it might not be faster than windraiders, but at level 11+ you should definitely be at typhons.

As a Marksman, am I better off getting the Explorer's Critical Ring or Explorer's Cruel Ring?

Is your wg hammered or not? if its not hammer it and scroll with either 60% or 30%. If you want to play on the safe side buy 14-16 w.att hammered wg but it might be out of your meso range. You could also try to save up for a decent arund, seeing as you dont have one... other than that get some dex earrings or upgrade your overall.

Hi,
I recently made my first archer to play on and off while I'm home from college. Its pretty fun to play but I'm kind of worried about my stats. I want to have enough STR in the long run to equip the reverse items, but with all of the new rings/belts/etc. I'm not sure where to cap my base STR. What do you more experienced bowmen think?

Thanks in advance. :B

I only made a sniper up to level 72, and that was my archer days but with all these new items coming out, I'd keep my str base around 35. If you know you can't handle it in the long run you can always raise it. Plan ahead with equips and what not. I was able to keep a 35 base and carry a 80 sniper with pretty standard (weak) STR equips.
