how can i get started in merchanting

I dont like how "buy low- sell high" sounds, thats the reason why people keeps overpricing stuff...
My advice would be "buy low -sell for average price". It just makes everything easier.

I don't really don't think what you're saying is right... It's all about making money. The better the FM spot the higher the price can be. Perhaps things would be easier for you, but unfortunately, nobody merchants for your sake.

Merchanting can be quite irritating... when nothing ever gets sold. That's why I also do boss fights. Much more money to be made that way as well. Yay for high demand and low supply of HT pendants <3

I recently re-started ms few days ago and this is what I did///


for the nx, just get a character to level 40 and do most of the good scroll quests.

(jane and the wildboar) 60% weapon att /lv25 /lith harbor
(subanis legacy) 60% glove att /lv 36 NLC
(sakura and the seal (toys?) 10% glove att/lv 35? showa
(sakura ,cat and the orange mushie) 30% shoe jump /showa
and those eos tower scroll quests. i think there was 3 that you can get a weapon att scroll off(one of them being a glove ATT 60 or 10%)
(to the new world) ellinia?then orbis , 60% weapon scroll
(100 curse eye killing quest) it gave me a 60% weapon scroll on both chars
all of those quests are reaaaaaalllllllllllllllly easy to do.

then sell those scrolls in mts so you can have enough for a store permit(1.8 knx)
and just buy leather 2k-3k each all over the place and make wgs and resell them for 150-200k XD it usually sells really fast for 150k each on weekends in scania.
OH and you can buy ores 1k each in kerning channel 1 (even the good ones like mithril !)

Gun scrolls aren't worth anything, at least not when I last looked in Broa. You can use those, but sell the others.

Heh, your douche tactic reminds me that another aspect of a successful merchanter is being very, very patient. Yes, they mention waiting a few days and such for your stuff to sell, and that more often than not rewards you. It may be necessary to wait for weeks or even months for other possible deals however, given how volatile Nexon is with their updates recently. Take White Scrolls for example. In Khaini, they sell for about 350-400 mil, and you can find at least one every three days or so in FM. That's nice and all that if you have the money. But a sudden event may show up where you find a White Scroll for much cheaper, such as gachapon notices suddenly screaming "THIS GUY GOT A WS FROM GACHAPON!!!" every 5 seconds, or (most likely) someone trying to sell one for absurdly cheap. Case in point, I managed to rip off an alliance member who was desperate for a quick cash infusion and bought his White Scroll for 250 mil. This may seem trivial when you think about long-terms and such, but pinching every penny you have could eventually get you some of the nicest things around.

Being patient is not always the best way to go. I mean 1m-2m profit per scroll isn't a lot of profit if you think about it. I would start off merchanting for 5-50m deals as a beginner merchant until I have a good money pool of like 750- 1000m. Then during an event (let's say gold box event), I would buy items 100-500m underprice and resell for average price. Say you grab a Maple Warrior 30 for 300m and resell it for 900m (I've seen one for 350m anyways, didn't have enough to grab it atm).

Other times, not during an event, I would MTS merchant because the MTS always has a steady flow of cheap equipments throughout all servers that use MTS. Yellonde and demothos just opened up their MTS which means more deals for me. During normal times in which no events are occuring, there's simply not enough deals in the free market to make a good profit.

*In some cases being patient can make you a very rich person. I know a merchant who stocked up thousands of crystals before the patch that released Maker. He made tens of billions. Perhaps even hundreds of billions. But for me, I'd rather have quick profit over long term stuff like that. I may not be the most successful merchant, but I like to watch my mesos/nx amount skyrocket up rapidly. I also like to hoard gear for my mage/pirate.

Think of the store permit as an investment. Try hunting Area Bosses or training in an area with a lot of consistent drops (monster etc. items, ores, and such).

its hard for me to think of it like that cuz it only lasts 90 days

In those 90 days, you can keep a shop open for a long time. A lot of people pass through the FM every hour, that means a lot of people will see your items, meaning that you have a higher chance to sell your times. Alternatively you can spam in the FM entrance but in that time you can have a shop open and get more exposure since people can see all of the items you are selling at once.

Level up, that was one of the first things mentioned. Fighting higher level monsters will result in items of better value to drop no? For example, Mano is a low level Boss. Its drops can't possibly compete with Zakum's which drops Helmets of a very high value. The only way you could even hope of fighting Zakum is to level up.

As for the cost of the store... I agree with Dyxanije in that these stores are an investment. It's a pretty safe investment once you start selling higher level items.

A) Look around fm, and learn prices. I'd say equips (clean of course) below level 70 are generally not very valuable.

Grind to a higher level before you worry about getting money from merchanting, especially if you don't have access to NX.

Yes, build your connections. Making money from HT is infintely faster than FM-ing.

Connections are made by leveling a non KoC!! You can suck up to people, not that it's any good in Scania anyway.

Use Basilmarket as a price checker if you need to.

the price checker just shows the ranges of most to least amount payed how do i know where in that range to charge?
