Any recent hacked accounts from Southperry users?

This was true for 1 of the 10 people hacked in my guild(only the first page hacked). I swear though he was the DUMBEST hacker possible, he was on the account for a good 2 hours, and hopped around trying to equip my guildie's claw (he had everything on his aran, on the 2nd page and his NL did not have enough dex). Then he proceeded to the FM to "B>dex pots@@@@@", all the while we followed him, and convinced him "dex pots" were sold in Magatia. We were just trying to run the time untill the Owner would be able to reset the password at midnight.

Thankfully it worked. But yea...this was just once case. Everyone else was pretty much efficiently wiped out.

As far as I know my stuff did not show up in the fm, half my friends were heavy merchants and would have known the second my shield would have been put in a shop. You don't see that type of thing for sale.

Just to help out the ticket thing, I knew tickets submitted under harassment never get actioned as that's a no brainer. I was going to submit it under the proper category of Account Related until a friend talked me out of it. I submitted it under Website - > Downtime as such technical based tickets need to be read, after 9 days it was "escalated" and its been sitting there for 3 weeks now. I have added 5ish updates to it and the hacker who rehacked me added one, which I had to denounce. No further response from nexon its in the void. I work at a helpdesk so my patience is supreme in such regards but man,,, I can also tell what SHOULD be going on. They obviously have no service level agreements or policys in place to regulate this stuff.

Just to re answer some of the common questions that keep popping up, I can reference some people from khani sw section as I monitor that as well:
--doesn't seem to matter when the last time you changed your pw, I knew a few people who changed them then got hacked later that week. (Ratarata)
--people who haven't logged onto the site in months also get hacked
--seems to be older based accounts but that's not always true since Infinium just clarified his friend got hacked on an April 2009 account
--my 2nd page aran got stripped to if you can call it that, logged on and took the only thing of any worth off it, a white maple dana
--The rest is pretty much well covered, the only variances seems to be the means, pw or pin changed, some are some not. email hacked or not? Happening to accounts tried to free providers such as hotmail, gmail, yahoo and even some private ones, Aubog007 who's account was older then mine was just as secure as me, and had a private email.

I don't think it's ever been this widespread but there have been similar attacks where the user could have done nothing to prevent it (except not having good items to steal, I guess - like you say they left stuff worse than a couple million easy mesos). Ecko afaik hacked a few accounts on Scania/Bera in a similar way, but only people he knew.

Sorry if I confused anyone, but I meant he stopped playing on April 2009. His account was made when I started in 2006 which is pretty old.

They only unlock permanent locks before expiry and those take a SC to get to.

We don't have permanent locks anymore in the cs right? The only ones i see is the yr ones.. So your telling me before my year lock is up that is when the gm will unlock it? They wont unlock it if someone asks early? Cause wasn't that the case with items going poof?

I think I remember a target attack on suushi? was it or Tiger? One of the big names, they had their account reinstated cause of the sheer importance top5 ect. I think tiger may have got Social Engineered.

Actually there was one anomaly, everything was stripped of value including a 10 int nap (25m?), but he left my 4 atk 8 luk pac? It was my worse piece of shadower gear, but why take a clean dana and a crappy nap over that? The hacker talked to one of my friends (friend pm's me screenshots) saying he left my pac and that I could have my account back. Its like he was taunting me to come back. He wanted me to make a new email and add my old one in MSN so he can give me my info back. My hotmail password reset went though 2 hours later so I didn't bother and took it back myself.

But ya, I know I sure didn't play during the beta or anything, but this is really the first widespread attack eh... I guess the one that is hitting MSEA now 3rd time?) in the other thread is only an economy hack but may work under the same principles.

Im starting to wonder if I would ever feel safe coming back even if nexon does the impossible and patches/restores and makes everything heavenly...aka the miracle. Even then we would need a Nexon ID change and email change, that info has got to be sitting somewhere, doubly so if you have been hacked.

I just wanna see the end to this, get some closure.

I'm wondering how they are targetting people. Do they randomly search people by:

a) Forum usernames -> IGN
b) Randomly looking through rankings and picking out randoms
c) Picking out some of the strongest or most rich characters out there and then hack?

a-If that was the case they would have hacked known people like herotex already who is broadcast all over.
b-If they were using rankings they would go for the 1-200 in rankings, and not hack random lvl 20 mules with mesos
c- That might be the issue, their main source will be the infamous basil market for all the godly ss

Tiger might have gotten hacked, I don't remember. However, back when I started MS, I remembered the 'big news' about Suuushi being hacked at the time. The character was wiped and stripped clean on rankings. I believe it was #2 at the time, and slowly over time, fell behind #5.

Ratarata did recieve a voice clip request on MSN and it's believed that scripts can be added into those files so anyone who's recieved the request can be hacked through some other way. Others (who probably didn't change their password) have been getting hacked without even having msn. Other than the possible case of that hero on bellocan (which I never heard back from), it seems that there isn't anyone who neither has msn/recieved a voice clip request and has changed his/her password and still got hacked. So I'm not saying changing one's password and blocking voice clips/avoiding msn is the end-all solution, but it still seems to be one of the best defenses, along with staying logged into accounts.

Ah. Just to make clear again the first time I was hit I did get a voice clip, closed on receiving so that jives. I spent the entire night formatting my computer and reinstalling stuff. The second time who knows, coulda been the same guy who knew my id or a totally different one who backdoored it somehow. From how that Detox guy acted sounds like it was a different guy and he paid to do it. Funny how he disappeared after that, musta got banned on sw?

And the first time I was also logged into the account (I used to afk all the time on the sign in NLC), I was almost always logged in at all times. DC hack stops that.

Seems to be only older accounts, a common theme I do notice is people do mention their password is older. But not everyone says whether their pass is new or not.

Yeah, sure id love to delve into how its happening but to be honest noone here is gunna get anywhere as to how they did it unless one of us here can do it. Sure you can narrow it down you you can never truly know. I just thought i'd inform everyone that this is still happening. And I think if anyone else knows someone who gets hacked they should post it up.

My character was in FM, but in one of the bottom row portals. Only my front page characters were attacked. I had lots of ITCG items and other scrolls on my 4th character that was untouched. They also took my MW30 off my mule put it into storage and must have forgotten to take it out because I found it in there after going through my things. They also did not take my clean facestompers on my main character. I'm not sure if they purposely did that in hopes that I would rebuild my account and re-hack me, or if it was out of plain stupidity.

45 minutes ago my Maple character was broken into while I was playing Mabinogi and they proceeded to drain every drop of NX on the account by buying a Maple Leaf for the exact amount in MTS.

Neither my pin nor pass was changed, my gmail log shows that the only person who's accessed my email account was my own static IP address, I haven't played maple in months, a keylogger wouldn't have my PIN, the password isn't a dictionary one and isn't one I used anywhere else. I haven't been to any sites that Phish, I haven't replied to any fake Nexon emails, I have no keyloggers, trojans, or similar anywhere in my network, I'm not playing via unsecured wifi (LAN all the way).

I'm pretty sure the only reason I have my equips still is I bought permanent locks for everything (or it's Reverse) and then hammered them when it came out and maxed out those slots too.

I have no idea what they're doing to get in, but admit I was mistaken; clearly something is afoot.

Had you changed your password since the server upgrade right before the patch? My guess is probably no - that seems to be the common theam, but I wanted to check and add more data.

I've started leaving my main accounts logged in 24/7 since one of my accounts got comprimised. (Naturally I changed all my passwords.)
