Nothing wrong with being excited for something that is not only constantly glorified but really signifies being and adult in western culture.

Funny, I find getting drunk to signify being an irresponsible child. When I turned 18, the thing I was happy about was being a legal adult. The right to vote being one of the main high points.

I think what he thought was sad was that this is what they're excited for is getting drunk; it's not the excitement in itself, it's because that's what people get excited about.

Been drinking since I was 15 or so. Doesn't change a damn thing. Only difference is, when I turn 21, I get to drink in areas I never could before:

a) Bar
b) Clubs
c) In public.
