I don't get why people wait until it's legal to drink. It's not like at 21 (18 where I live) you suddenly change and will handle alcohol responsibly.

Drink young. Love life.

Also happy birthday. Mine has been in the last two weeks/is today/will be in the next two weeks. I am now/am going to be ooooold(er).

Because some people want to abide by the law. It's like why people don't use limewire.

Meh, I'm not exactly fond of the idea of getting drunk. I just prefer to just wait until I'm actually allowed to try alcohol to... you know, try it. :p

Well idk about your country but here they cant stop you from drinking in your own home under the legal drinking age.

Is it not allowed to drink before 21 over there? I thought that was the age you were allowed to buy alcohol, not drink it.

I probably had the whole idea wrong then, I'm not really from here. I've always thought the laws in the US was that I couldn't drink alcohol until I was 21. o_o

Happy birthday.
And beign drunk is not fun.
It was when I was younger now all I can think about when Im having a beer or anything else
'What stupid thing am I going to do?' and 'Uhhh hangover'.
So I just decided not to be drunk anymore and just drink few beers or whatever when Im hanging out with friends.

American law is weird. In your house with parental suppervision, you can drink anything that's legal to own. Can't buy or drink alcohol(or anything with alcohol, including cough medicine) anywhere else until 21 though. Yey for Conservatives.
The exact details change from state to state, US Gov't won't give the state a certain portion of it's highway tax unless they have a 21 drinking age or something along those lines.
In Washington State, for example, you can't even walk into a bar until you're 21. "Sorry sir, you're breaking the law. Please take a step back. Thank you. You're legal now." <__<''

I turned 21 eight months ago and I drink as much now as I did a year ago: not at all. No point in drinking alone anyway.

I turned 17 yesterday. Still have not drunk any alchaholic beverages. Don't plan to anytime soon.

It saddens me that the first thing people mention when announcing they are turning 21/18/whatever is "HORF HORF HORF I CAN GETS THE DRUNK LUL".
