Any recent hacked accounts from Southperry users?
I honestly thought that most people complaining about getting hacked were just careless or fooled by social engineering, until today, when I saw my bishop sign on while I was on my sniper. This is going to sound cliche, but I never gave my information to anyone, nor do I go to any sites except for SP and SW.

The weird thing is the hacker was on my account for literally 1 minute, and didn't take anything. I changed my password on both of my accounts, and moved all my equips to a friend just in case, but believe me, since I was extremely skeptical before, something weird is going on.

I'm going to reformat my computer just to make sure, even though my virus scan didn't pick up anything.

Wow is that luck or what? Personally, I've never experienced any problems with hackers. Maybe my account isn't high-leveled enough.

We'll see how lucky I am. Unfortunately, I don't have time to reformat now, or else I would. I just hope my accounts don't become compromised and hijacked as a result.

A few alliancers and a guildie have been hacked; cleaned out. Don't know what's going on but this is freaking me out a bit.

If you are sure you computer is clean and you had never given your info to anyone, then the only place where your userid and password get enter into is the Nexon's web site for purchasing NX. Maybe some hacker managed to install some type of spyware or even spoof the web site and able to capture people's info. Nexon seems to be ignoring this issue even it has been gettng worse and worse, maybe if people starts to avoid getting NX (due to scare of being hacked) to protest and get Nexon to do something about it, they might actually really look into this hacking problem.

Press 0, to talk to an actual HUMAN!

Tell them how much you hate being left in the dark, and about what's going on!

You know perfectly well that they'll just tell you Nexon America does not offer support for it's games over the phone, to file a ticket and hang up. Unless you know a specific person to ask for and can bluff past reception.
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.

That's a possiblilty, since my bishop is connected to Paypal. Either way, I am in the middle of reformating to remove any keyloggers as a possible scenario.

Now would either of those actually help you when you got them, or would they just repeat the same thing and hang up? Rolleyes

Pretty sure they wouldn't even bother connecting you without just cause (claiming to work for a magazine/newspaper/law office(???))

I am curious though.

Awful ideas. Saying you're with a newspaper or magazine will make them connect you to their 3rd party Public Relations firm. The firm would only be useful for confirming or denying buzz worthy topics ( like new products, damage control, etc...)

Pretending you're a lawyer and connecting to Llyod Korn (who is most likely 3rd party) not only would prove fruitless (since he is only concerned with DMCA and Intellectual Property claims) but he could even be a prick and send a restraining order if he found out that you were lying.

These kinds of complaints can only go to a well versed customer service department.

Which is unfortunately useless to anyone who doesn't have their corporate directory. Biggrin

Guy in my guild just got hacked today. This is in windia

I'm wondering how they are targetting people. Do they randomly search people by:

a) Forum usernames -> IGN
b) Randomly looking through rankings and picking out randoms
c) Picking out some of the strongest or most rich characters out there and then hack?

These kind of posts serve no purpose to inform, just to tell you. People get hacked all the time; and unless you know that something really awkward is behind that particular incident, then it makes no difference if you just say someone gets hacked.

It does help, it confirms its still happening and nexons not doing anything.

Which is normal.

But its better then nothing.

I never understood the point of hacking Maple Story. I guess there's profit in it, perhaps it's just the thrill in being a Sadomasochistic Kill Joy then turning off the computer and realizing that he or she will be alone forever eating hot pockets.

There are more important things in life at least...money spent on Maple story is money spent. Time spent on Maple Story is time spent. Hell...what else were you going to do with it. Hmm, the most upsetting parts I can see in this situation is that the company seemingly doesn't care....but wake up....especially those players who have been playing this game for years....you know Nexon...YOU KNOW NEXON. Change comes slowly.

lol it's just digital material.

Give a big 凸(゜皿゜メWink and keep it going people.

Unfortunately people are douches out in the real world and there are numerous haters. That and hackers like to take crap, sell their stolen things, and then use those funds to make their own stuff better. <<- possibility
or they can take the uber godly stuff and sell it on E bay or something for like $50 o_o

Hackers must live very empty lives lol.

And when you have haters you know you're doing something right.
