Pet Auto HP Pouch
#1
It works horribly.... I've died 4 times because it doesn't pot, is there any tips on how to make it work better?
I've also saved myself several times by potting manually, I have it past the 50% on the hp alarm, my hp is 3500~ and I only get hit for 1300 - 1600 (kents or wolf spiders)
but sometimes after the second hit, I have like 200 hp and it doesn't pot! (Barb elixirs), Sometimes it simply doesn't pot, I see myself walking with 1200 hp and then die without noticing...

IS there any way to make it work more efficiently?

From my experience using autoHP, there are two main situations that cause auto pot not to work, you just have to know and look out for them.

if you use any pot (hp/mp) right before getting hit it wont activate

if you are in the middle of certain skills while getting hit it wont work; eg if i get hit while im casting octopus, 90% of the time autopot wont work however it works just fine if i get hit while casting air strike.

Let me elaborate on this more. It fails 100% of the time if you are casting anything that is not an attack. This includes Flash Jump, Booster, Battleship, Transform, Soul Arrow, etc. If you cast anything that does damage such as Cannon, Strafe, Demolition, Recoil Shot, Triple Throw, etc. it will work.

It will always fail if any other pot is being used at the same time. If you use an All Cure, an MP pot (even if your auto-MP is using it), or another HP pot right before auto HP would work, it will not. (If you have auto MP set to something weak like the 300MP potions, you might feel as though Auto HP fails all the time. I would suggest using a better MP pot in this case.)

In contrast, Auto HP will work all the time if you do absolutely nothing. I've done several Zakum runs where I have a mule with a weight on his left key and his auto HP never fails. Auto HP isn't supposed to make you totally ignore your HP, you just won't have to spend all your time looking at it and potting.

Ok... then I guess that what makes it fail must be, myself using MP pots, Combat step and uhhmm... energy drain casting? o,o

Energy Drain is an attack, so it wouldn't fail then. Combat Step and MP potions would do it though.

EDIT: Unless you mean Aran's Drain thing, it'd fail then. Are they both called Energy Drain?

The real name is Combo Drain.

Pro-tip: If your HP bar flashes for more than a split second, mash that pot button. I stopped relying on auto-HP to heal me 100% of the time; I just use it so I don't have to press the pot button so much.

I first used Auto HP at Himes when they had just come out. I was almost level 120 on my Ranger and a constant 2HKO. It didn't take long for me to realize that I couldn't depend on it 100% and to be constantly aware of when it fails. However, it was still great to have. Without it, I would have spent more time potting than attacking there.
