Balancing is over

Takebacker Wrote:Why the f'uck would i do that.

Because you want the boost? This isn't super hard to get and I've been arguing the same point as Mr. Typhoon here for a while.

If you want something another class has then you should be playing that class. That's why we have the ability to create multiple characters. I want to be able to steal on my magician but that doesn't mean I should expect Nexon to give me a skill that allows me to steal just because I don't want to change classes.

I agree. Just because the classes aren't going to be 100% equal (I wouldn't want or expect them to be, anyway), that doesn't mean it's alright when a class that actually needs the buffs, like Buccs, doesn't get them. I'd be pretty pissed too if they didn't fix the main problems with my class while making other classes, who were already better, even more supreme. I want people to want to make Buccs/Shadowers/DrKs and function as something other than a mule whom we bring the bare minimum of.

And for the rest of you, I'm pretty sure you'd all be pissed if every other class but the one you play suddenly became triple as strong. Sure, it wouldn't change your power on an absolute scale, and you wouldn't kill any slower than you did before, but relatively speaking you'd be worthless. Then what's the point of your class? Fun classes don't have to be useless, and I would hope that's what this so-called "balancing" is attempting to do.

Did bucc's ever have passive criticals? Because if they didn't then it's not a reasonable request (actually, every post I see seems more like a demand.) Just because it would benefit them doesn't mean it's necessary. I can think of a billion things that would benefit me (including passive crits!) buuut it's ridiculous to expect to get them. There's no reason for this "need" besides selfishness.

If you're not happy with your class then don't play that class.

Wanting more out of a balance patch that f'ucked balance up between 2 similar classes does not mean i hate my class. Saying that i should make a new class if i don't like my damage after another class got stronger is not a compelling argument or counter point. Would you have said that to any paladin b'itching about their class a few months ago?

@ above: I already made a thread with changes that would easily satisfy every single buccaneer that plays maplestory and passive crit was not on that list.

I don't agree that Buccs should get passive crits ever. Just saying that they need boosts in other areas so that they aren't at the bottom of the list, like they are now. Pretty sure increases in skill speed is what they really need. Large ones.

Yeah guys, when life faces you with problems, run away.

Really tired of this argument.

That is pretty much what is wrong with buccs in a nutshell. Because we can SI ourselves they gave us obscenely low attacking speeds. That's like giving a DrK really low HP because they have hyperbody.

It is a mistake in class design that needs to be fixed.

But MM train faster than all of those classes. Bowmasters and Night Lords especially.

So what if they aren't the highest single-target DPS dealers in the game? They still are better off than most, and that's not even counting snipe, which even with it as laggy as it is still adds to their dps.

sadly you are mistaken. markemen only outdamage buccs and mages.

you all forget snipe IS BROKEN so dont count it as part of our "DPS".

You can hardly compare life with a pixel character you play in an online game.

Ah, darn. It's a shame they can't give different bonuses based on class, more boost for MM vs NL/BM could help close the gap some.

Ok, with the new rings with everything else the same as before. And remebering to count warriors attacks as multihits, like I forgot to before. So brandish is 2 hits, crusher is 3. [still makes hardly any difference, but eh might as well be accurate]

10% crit rate for 10% extra crit damage puts

Marksmen at 100000% DPM
Heroes at 86087% DPM
Paladins 94652.2% DPM
Drks 65903% DPM

5% Crit rate for +20% damage

Marksmen 97524%
Hero 86086%
Paladin:94652.2%
Drks: 65870.1%

So yeah, the rings make a whopping 87% difference per minute on a paladin. lul. Similar numbers on a hero and drk.(the better ring) Gives marksmen +11619% per minute, give or take.

Notably this ring gives them more of a boost than 120% per arrow strafe would, that the marksmen here had been asking for (120% strafe would give roughly 4000% less per minute than the ring)

that might be true, but that wont stop NLs and BMs from getting further ahead thanks to these rings. where is the "balance" in that?

Nls and Bms have pomegranatety mobbing. You don't. Thats where it is. This makes you fall only behind corsairs, bowmasters and NLs, and paladins with advantage 1v1. Again, possibly arans, but i'm not doing anything with them until someone pulls out actual attack speeds for them.

you know its been discussed and proved that pierce isnt better at mobbing than torpedo, that dk skill, arans, that hero skill thing that also hits 3 monsters. i have no idea bout BoT and Bstep. you see pierce does crazy ass damage to the last 2-3 monsters but it still takes 2 of them to kill the first few. thats about 3-4 secs if you count charge, release and charge again. are you saying those other classes cant mob 6 monsters in 3-4 seconds?

Because this is clearly a life problem and not just something people are being unreasonable children about.

If you want to compare this to life then what your saying would be that if the road you're traveling on is blocked off by say, a landslide (because it's something that probably won't get cleared up soon) you should probably just plow right into it instead of driving around because you've already come this far and turning around just isn't worth it. Except in this case the next road is literally across a median and you could probably leave your car in front of the blocked road and easily rent a car on the other side to get you to where you want to go.

If you don't like your job in real life and there's one that offers you things you need and it's available then why wouldn't you take that job?

I think all they're really saying is that if there's a problem that can be fixed by those who control what's going on, then it should be fixed rather than ignored and left to rot.

If I may ask, what's wrong with wanting to be invited to boss runs with your current class instead of training up a class you don't like so you've got a shot at it?

Also, I'm going to go run the numbers FACTORING IN SNIPE for Marksmen because I'm really tired of the whining about it.

The problem aren't the classes. It's the entire community, we're all obsessive over DPS. I admit, even I am. When I started MS, I was a Pole Arm Dragon Knight, I played mainly for the 'motivation' and will to use flashy blue dragon skills. Eventually, I quit because I noticed I can't:

a) Boss as well as Hybrids or Spear-DKs.
b) People looked-down at me for being unique

So I switched to a Night Lord. I was treated differently, in fact, I went from a regular Mapler into one of those higher-up Night Lords (albeit, low-levelled because I'm 13x) that people will try calling on if they need NLs for Zakum. I felt needed, but deep down, I knew they only wanted me because I'm a funded and powerful NL 'for my level'. But truth is, if you don't like your class, why not just quit? -shrugs- I quit my PADK for my Night Lord. Do I regret it? Not really. It's just a different way of playing. If something else gets better than my NL, hell, if a Bowmaster and a MM does twice a NL's damage, surely, I'd be complaining. But I'm not going to b'tch about it over and over, if that was the case, I might as well play a new MMO or make a new class. -shrugs- Change is inevitable.
