I was thinking that, but it's something I'd imagine would be a bit strange to normal people. So I used socks, because although it may sound strange, it certainly doesn't seem "creepy". I still think knee socks/stockings are best for something like this. I never said foot fetish was abnormal in my personal view, I said most "normal" people would look at it strangely. Obviously I know quite well how deep a person's fetish can reach, but not everyone outside of the internet shares the same views. Foot fetish is something that I certainly would think most would raise an eyebrow to. Socks on the other hand is incredibly tame, but at the same time not one that "normal" people would really think of when they first hear the word "fetish".
