Well, at least al-Qaida gets set back a few months every time they fail, which seems to be quite often as of late.

Thousands and thousands of flights take of and land every day with no problems. More than a thousand people die each day in car crashes. It's safer per mile to fly in an airplane than drive.

If you learned that someone in your city/disctrict died in a car crash, would you decide to never drive again?

As much as I understand how you feel, I would actually fly on an airplane again. I've rode on an airplane about.. 6 times or so by myself. I went from state to state, and from country to the next by myself. I wasn't really scared though. I've witnessed stories of people dying, I know people that died, some of my closest friends died, actually. To be honest, I just accept things for the way they are, because you can't really be safe anywhere. If you drive a long distance, you can get into a car crash, or a crazy person might jump out when you're slowing down and try to kill you. On an airplane, it's similar, you can't trust anyone on the plane, unless you personally know them.

I guess i'm just paranoid. I'm scared of being on a plane and not being able to control it if something happens. At least in a crash I have "some what " of control. Not much... but some. I'm leaving my life up to the gov't agencies and the airlines to keep me protected.

I'm scared. So sue me.

Today I swear RDU thought I was a terrorist. They frisked me and searched my bags/shoes. Only my carry on but still, they saw my set of Prismas and asked what they were. I explained I couldn't fit them into the bag.
Ughhhh, so awkward.
Anyway, that was so stupid of him to do that on Christmas day...

Also... my brother was on that flight. No joke... He is emotionally stressed and now is scared for life. It made me realize how scary this world is. From now on I'm calling him every day for the rest of my life to try to get him back to normal. He has always been one of those gifted kids who grows up to be paranoid but goes to Stanford and then gets a job with a house four times the size of mine . For someone under this amount of stress already its really been killing him. He says he'd rather drive across country for the rest of his life then take another plane. Personally I don't blame him, I kind of feel the same way now.

But didn't those 6 attempted/4 successful terrorist attacks all happen in one or less than a year? Sorry, i don't know much about 9/11.

The thing about these shoe bombers and plane terrorists is that the citizens on the flight are starting to realize "Even if I sense something wrong and I do something to the person to restrain him, there's a 50/50 it's a terrorist or just an accident." It's really good that people are starting to stand up against this. They were hurt after 9/11 and so now after all these civilians are gonna start being heroes more often. I know I would, cause in all honesty, if I go out being a hero, then I go out like a badass.

Detroits not a very good place to live if you're frantic about these things lol.

In all seriousness, I can not stand driving anywhere in a 10 mile radius of Detroit because it has become more and more of a slum as the years have progresssed. The terrrorists must not have had an idea of what Detroit really was like because I wouldn't mind the city being rebuilt.

I had a flight about 2 days afterwards. Didn't see any noticeable changes in airport security.

I saw something about this on the news as it was developing... This is kinda scary, but it's not gonna stop me from taking planes.
