Final Fantasy 14 Beta
#1
Square just opened registration for the first beta phase for the Windows version of Final Fantasy 14 a few days ago. The different servers include Europe, North America, and Japan. So... go sign up!

I just got their newsletter yesterday, so I signed up yesterday. Confused

I signed up quite a few days ago. But remember, the number one rule is don't say if you get in. Square will cancel your beta account.

Also, anyone noticed they avoided the meme? ONLY 9000. Not over. Glitter

Necropost :x

The main site got updated again... lots of interesting information released such as the Armoury system. It seems interesting, I hope I interpreted it right but you can be all the classes so long as you have the required items? I'd like to be able to try this game sometime soon~

If you bought FFXIII for PS3 you get a special FFXIV Promotional code after you register the game on their site, which increases your chances to get in, so if you have XIII, look it up.

Honestly what's going to happen to Final Fantasy XI? For a series supposedly sold on the originality and ingenuity of each series, Final Fantasy sure has fallen by principal. Wherever the public goes, the industry must follow. Eye-candy and social immersion games. Wonderful.

It'll be shut down within a year or so of release of XIV. They'll try to get people to move to the new game, but I doubt many will, most will be quitting from what I heard. I admit it is a little lame, but if they got something for playing XI in XIV, it'd be a little better.

No, they intend to keep it open. XIV plays in a completely different way than XI so they're trying to appeal to multiple markets. They've already said that they only have 1 years worth of content planned for XIV because they don't know how successful it will be. They know XI is successful, so it'll stay up for quite a while still.
