Well, this made my day.

So I'm sitting in the library and in a room they call the "reading room". It's a nice place: chairs, cushions, periodicals, encyclopedias and a huge table to do whatever. It's like my second crib. Today, there's a fellow in here with me. He's napping like a baby. In fact, here's a picture of the chap.

 Spoiler

Since I was here second, I'll just settle my things (laptop, books and backpack), down quietly and leave him in his peace. As I bend over the table to set up my laptop, I heard a voice from behind me. I turned around to find nothing but a chair and a wall. I figured I was hearing things. So I bent over again to continue unpacking when I heard the voice again! This time it was right behind me ear. Again, I quickly turned around to find nothing but the same chair and the same wall.

I continued to unpack but with more caution this time. Nothing was heard. I reached under to plug in my laptop when there was the sound again! No doubt it was coming closer. Irritated, I kept myself bent over to try and listen to the voice. I heard it. It only spoke every few seconds. I was hardly able to make it out; there was mixed mumbling with a strong sound of snoring... snoring from the nearby napping lad? "Impossible!" I thought. No snore is that loud let alone being loud enough to sound like it's sneaking up on me.

I concentrated a bit more and no doubt about it, it was the sound of his snoring. But snoring that loud was not humanly possible! I gave a good look at him to find nothing but a common sleeping man. I looked around the room when noticed the ceiling...

At first I thought sleeping-guy was going to rape you and take your laptop. Then I finished reading and smiled.

Yay physics! ^o^

Reminds me of this at Chicago's lovely Museum of Science & Industry.

Same principles, though it's set up to explore them. It's neat you got to experience the phenomenon as it exists in the real world!

butterfli Wrote:So when I got home today, as I planned to sit down in front of my computer enjoying some prime time internet, I noticed my butt was hurting. It felt like a tack yet when I stood up to check, I found a clean, dustless cushion. Quickly tossing that thought aside, I sat down again trying to get in my daily internet time. After a few minutes, I noticed the hurt in my butt had returned. Odd, I thought. Perhaps the problem was my jeans so I removed my pants and thoroughly inspected it. It was even cleaner than the chair I sat. Annoyed, I decided to hang around in my boxers. After a few reads and re-reads of my witty thread that I creatively posted on southperry titled "Well, this made my day.", that hurt in my butt was back.

I gave up on trying to look through my pants for reasons of the irritation and tried to remember why it may be hurting. As far as I can recall, the day was perfectly normal. I awoke to find myself on the floor next to my bed as usual. I drove to school while singing along to the song "Gee" by Girls' Generation on my iPod Touch as I did yesterday and the day before. Come lunchtime, I was om nom nom noming on a self-made sandwich with the crust cut off that was ever-so kawaii.

After lunch, I went to the library...when it hit me. I was bending over numerous times and each time, I felt as if a person was behind me. It was an eerie feeling but when I turned around, no one was there. Could it be that that innocently-napping, pedophilic-looking chap was responsible for my butt hurting?

Anyone else find it weird that Butterfli had visual aids to help with his story?

Only creeps take pictures of people sleeping.

Stop this. I don't know why, but this and the first post are really creeping me out. Stop. I'm going to be scared of people sleeping in libraries from now on. Thanks.
