Arans, the crippler class?
#21
lol I'm used to it. I spam buttons on my buccaneer so that it'll eventually time correctly anyway. Makes your left arm unexpectedly strong Big Grin

I use shift, when my fingers hurt I just use my right hand.

I've been using spacebar as my attack key and I've been feeling it. Im just going get to 70 on my Aran, since I doubt I can go any further and not risk joint damage :X

I must say, Guitar Hero and Rockband hurt my hands more than playing Aran, that for sure.

I have my mains keys as

Attack = z
nimble feet = shift
booster = D
body pressure = c
jump = shift
loot = x
combat step = alt

Not much problems with this setup for me. My middle finger rests on the attack button, and just moves over 1 to loot stuff and to use while my index finger rests on alt and moves over 1 to use jump.

I use my regular config, for all my chars the main attack skill is D, so for aran I use
Attack= D
Jump= S
Combat step= Control
Booster and body pressure on the right side ( ´and ñ, spanish keyboard)
mana pots: End
HP pots: space
loot; z

Using a keyboard for aran is doing it wrong. I'm using a 360 controller myself...

How do you make the key binds to the controller? I have an USB adaptable PS1 controller that maybe I could use...

My keys are so basic.

CTRL - Main attack
Shift - Movement skill
ALT - Jump
Space - Flash Jump/Combat Step
A - Booster
` - Defence skill
Z - Loot
X - Main mobbing skill
C - Secondary main skill (ie that single hitting skill on Crusaders)
PgDn - HP pots
End - MP pots
Del - Dark Sight/Attack pots/Attack skill
PgUp - Nimble Feet/Other buff
Home - Accuracy Pill
Insert - Speed Pill

Other skills go randomly over my keyboard.

Get j2k or xpadder, I use xpadder but they both work. Make sure to scan zips before you open them.

And yes, controller ftw, you can even set combos to 1 key. Easy as loli rape.

..... i totally just LOL'd IRL at this man..... my co-workers are staring at me >.> i dunno imma try changing it around and do liek a level on each different button, but idunno i liek to use 1 hand to do everything leik ya i left all the buttons where they are so that my left hand basically just sits on Alt and i rest my right hand with my thumb ON ctrl fingers kinda semitight into a half fist so that that are on the Left up and Right keys at the same time and just kinda reverberate my thumb constantly and move as needed, but now that ive hit lvl 59(and just got my final charge) i might be looking to also change this since it will need for more movement keys... i just dunno where to move it since I keep my mp pots on the Insert and keep my hp on the home and random ding dong skills in the page up and page down keys with suppot skills on Backspace, other random pots i am in need of on end this i found to work for all of my Corsair, Hero and Ilam, really helpped me to pwn some hoes i found it great and stuck with it mainly.

Jump = Space
Att = ","
Pickup = M
Alternate Att = ALT GR

(Im playin on a Laptop, so the Buttons are close to another. I hate a normal Keyboard with huge Buttons).

LOLarans.

They really don't sound that bad. If it requires that much usage of my index finger, this won't be a problem. Jesus Christ, I play competitive Smash, I literally use my thumb, index, middle, and ring finger on both hands to play on a controller, that's 8 out of 10 fingers on a controller. On a keyboard, I've once used around just 6 for a Night Lord. Go out and play Street Fighter, DoA, or something. Those games requires you to intensely tap multiple buttons to unleash combos, your index fingers will hurt like a peach after an hour, but it's worth the practice.

I'll probably suck horrible playing my Aran at higher levels when I need to do combos...I've never played Street Fighter, Tekken or any other button masher game, I hate games like that. lol

I've had this problem too. Arans didn't interest me at first but they turned out to be really fun. I could see myself playing it well into 4th job, except I'd like to be able to get there without getting carpal tunnel syndrome in the process.

I play an ASDF configuration with Jump on Space on my Corsair and I'm using a similar layout on my Aran. I have Attack on D which is where Cannon is on my Corsair. However, I've never had any wrist problems playing my Corsair, but my wrists were killing me after training my Aran during yesterday's 4 hour 2x event.

tl;dr
D = Attack
Delete = Combat Step
Space = Jump
W = Booster

I started playing Dragonica recently and it's a lot more tedious to play (buttom spam-wise) than Aran, but Aran is still far more crippling... The thing about Aran is that you're constantly spamming the SAME button over and over and over. Other games, you press different buttons, which releases stress on your hands, since you're not actually repeating the same motion over and over. With Aran, it's just the same motion over and over and over for possibly hours on end. It's a real destroyer of the hands. =/

CTRL - Attack
Shift - un-used
ALT - movement (tele;haste)
Space - Jump
A - Ability Chart
Z - Loot
X - Main attack skill (Blizz;Lucky7)
C - Secondary main skill (Ice Strike;Drain)
PgDn - Thief pot (NLC) or Ifrit summon
End - Attack Pot
Del - Chain Lighting
B - chair
V- magic gaurd or dark sight
S- hp pot
D- mp pot
F- lolauto-hp recovery pot incase of emergancy
J- Booster

Partically the same thing for all of my charaters. Since most of maplesskills are familiar!
