anyone know these series?

Argento Soma (also AΠHENTO ΣOMA)
dont really remember this series.

Betterman
all i remember about this series was the massive amount of mindPineapple that it was. lots of ecchi fanservice from the main girl characters though, minus the obligatory lolicon... i digress. i loved the main girls hairstyle ... and her brother was badass Excellent

BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad
awesome. manga was worth the 101 chapters and the 26 episodes of the anime. sure the manga had no music, which was ironic for a series about a rock band, but the songs from the anime, both in japanese and english were sick. plus theres some fan-made ones out there (
heres a sample of a fanmade song out of the manga
) much love i have for it.

Rurouni Kenshin
just another anime about feudal samurai? nope, nuh uh. its been a while, but from what i can recall, the story was very moving, and guy that had the shirt with "evil" on the back was pretty badass. series' last arc was when kenshin fought that bandaged guy, right?

FF:U (Final Fantasy Unlimited)
yes, i am a nerd, and i bought the boxed case of this series. and i still watch it to this day. i mean, i LOVE the art style, its just... Glitter to me. just... sure the plot was confusing at first, and it took me some research to figure out the backstory, but i enjoyed the series as it was presented. plus, Madoushi. Blush

Excel Saga
...this series, really mean this, speaks for itself. its like, its a self parody of a parody. theres just too much here. its awesomeness injected with heroin laced with crazy zany action comedy. plus, Afro-shin. 'nuf said.

Rurouni Kenshin, English-dubbed, I only watched til he fights the bandaged guy, because after that, they only aired it uber-late night on Adult Swim. I did skip everything and ended up seeing the anime's ending though. Then I also watched the movies, which was very nicely done.

Betterman is one of the first animes that i ever watched. I remember when too. It was in Florida on vacation, and at night they played anime on G4TV when it was still G4 Tech TV), only saw a few episodes though. Now i wanna go download it <_<

Rurouni Kenshin - IIRC, they played this at one time on [Adult Swim], was also one of the animes i liked, and one of the last that [as] played often.

FF Unlimited was awesome, only seen 2 episodes i think, which was from blockbuster a while back.I just wish that the whole thing was longer than it is. The stories from Square and their games are usually stunning, and Unlimited was no exception.

Another Sunrise series? Yeah, I remember Betterman. I probably still have it on my old hard drive too.

Beck is awesome, really. I usually recomend this anime to people when they're out of ideas on what type of anime they're into.

Indeed, I remember buying the subbed VHS tapes of this series before it aired on Cartoon Network. I don't like how they basically went with a ton of filler episodes in the end though, kinda annoyed me. Then I felt that it ended so suddenly.

That said, I did give the manga a read and enjoyed it.

Excel Saga is a very random show. It's also one of the few series that I watched the dub for after watching the original. I have to say, the dub worked in the jokes better than the subs, and it was nice not seeing a paragraph of Excel's dialogue on the screen at once. I like how much of an impact they left off with in the final episode.

Give Puni Puni Poemy a try if you like Excel, it's by the same director. It's only 2 episodes, but it's very much like Excel Saga.

Yeah, I've seen it before. Pretty cool series. I remember I read the manga first and lost interest somewhere, then saw the movie and got interested enough in it again to continue on with it.

Gotthe whole series on DVD for christmas one year. LOVED the last episode! Great anime to watch, and your description is spot on!

How about Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040? I used to watch it on one of the movie channels forever ago. It had great music and a great plot.
