Just throw the old one out, it is repeatable.

I think secret crystal was something for maker that no one ever knew how to make... it was to make the equips with (I thnk) 2/3/5 lower level requirement.

I'm so glad I sold my FS last night when I saw they were adding shoe attack. Even if the scrolls are rare as hell FS will still deflate like crazy.

That only applies if shoe attack scrolls will be released massively, which I doubt...

Think of it as Shoe attack scrolls of 1 bil mesos each, 3 per server sold in the whole FM at the same time...

It's just another trick from Nexon to activate the Gachapon addicts once more, especially with the gachapon gamble jackpot announcements... It's just to encourage kids to mass spend their mommies creditcard so they can show of to their "friends" that they have xx attack shoes, not telling anyone they spend 500 dollars on day of gambling at the age of 8...

MapleStory is free and NX can be acquired by anyone using the MTS. Everyone is standing on the same foot.

meh, not the same foot. Thats like saying rich people and middle class are staying on the same foot because they both have income(you know, i dont feel like deleting that but i know how well analogies hastily thought of go down in forums). I'm still planning on using MTS for 90-100% of the washing for my aran, but when compared to people who just have the money/desire irl to buy it, they are better off then those who mts. It just takes longer to get and they get to keep their mesos.

But Vicious' Hammer doesn't come from gacha. It is a cash shop item that you must use nx to obtain (or find a friend with nx to gift it to you, I suppose). Suddenly, people without nx simply could not compete with people who have it.

And now, Vega's Scroll must be used with the regular 10/60 scroll and the item to be scrolled. It does not upgrade the scroll, which can then be sold. So, again, people without nx do not have access to this scrolling device.

Both MTS and the Merchant market don't work without a small investment of NX and quite a few mesos. Plus the tax screws the lower priced things, so most people are not attracted to such things. And some people don't know their prices either, so they over/under price certain things and can't maximize profit.

Just because you aren't good at it (not you specifically just whoever you were referring to with this post) doesn't mean it's not available. You don't need any initial nx to start using the MTS. Quests give you enough scrolls to make enough nx to buy a permit, from there all you need is leathers to get started merchanting in the fm. It's a longer road then just buying NX but it's still available.

Whenever I buy/bought NX, I use(d) paybycash, and gained all the advantages as card-guys. It's prepaid, so it's the same bonus (At least it was for like, 1 month ago or so...?)

Responding to these three at once.

I agree with aslemn that MapleStory certainly appears to be heading down that path, but I disagree with Stereo. We don't have "Equip Shop Surprises" or things of the sort yet that cost 500 NX and, at a 0.1% chance, pop out a Horntail Pendant or a Reverse Lampion. THAT'S what it sounds like Trickster online is like. The difference between GMS and such a gamestyle, then, is that the aspect of probability still dominates. All Nexon keeps doing is giving us more chances and greater odds at rolling the dice: Vicious Hammers allow us to try two more times for higher stats on an item, the exorbitantly priced Vega Scrolls give us a better chance of successfully imbuing our gear with such stats, and Dark Scrolls/White Scrolls/Chaos Scrolls, in and of themselves, increase stats/assurance of rate passage at the cost of your wallet and/or the item itself. No where in there is the 100% assurance of "Godly Items" via the Cash Shop, and so this game is definitely not what others are.

If Nexon was to remove the aspect of probability by selling such gear through the Cash Shop, then the game would be "ruined" to the degree Trickster (and to a lesser extent, Gunbound) has become. As of right now the only "stat equips" you can buy from the Cash Shop are Aura Rings, but to get four you're looking at a 12k NX price tag every three months - all for a rather negligible stat increase for any class, and thus are only used by stat whores and people who need the secondary/tertiary stat boost for equips.

Finally, the section I bolded in the quotes at the end is something I completely agree with, as should anyone. It's basic business procedure, yet the fact we even have the opportunity of the MTS for non-charged NX shows this game does not solely favor NX-card chargers.

Is there any other real benefit to using the -5 Lv Req item than on int gear?

I can't seem to think of any other than equipping SCG/FS/PAC a little earlier but that's a bit unnecessary.

Also, are the new PB, Polar Bear, and Christmas Box chairs obnoxiously large? (Like the ones we've been getting lately..)
