The skill description doesn't make any sense to me.
What does Shadow Meso do? How much does it suck? Does it have any practical uses?

Should have read a tad better? He meant the skill
Anyways, it just throws your mesos as an attack, not really useful at all, I think. More of a fun skill, but I'm no expert on Hermits.

Lolwut?
Shadow Meso is a skill that uses mesoes insteads of stars. Throws a set amount of damage, so when you max it, you'll never do more damage with it again (unless you use Shadow Partner)

Does anyone know yet if it works with Sharp Eyes? Especially since it has it's own critical formula...
I've asked this around on many fora already, but noone seems to know it...
Any Hermit/NL with maxed Shadow Meso (or unmaxed...) any clue about this?

But why would it matter, seeing as triple throw completely overpowers it in 4th job. Also, even if it was worth using in third job, it would really kill your mesos....Wait, even then it won't matter because with shadow partner, it only hits twice vs lucky 7 hitting 4 times

>>Implying Hermits are short on meso
If the critical formula was enough of a bonus with or without SE, it could have practical uses. I doubt it, but I know little to nothing of Hermits.

I'm way short on mesos, unlike every "stereotypical hermit" I am poor...

First of all, it hits hard.
Second of all, number of hits has nothing whatsoever to do with how much DPS a class can do. In this specific example, sure, L7 > SM, but it has some potential in my opinion.

I have lv 1 Shadow Meso on my Night Lord just for the hell of it. Basically, it ignores weapon-def. Imagine "Sacrifice" from a PADK, or a Hybrid DK. Same rule applies, except this is long-ranged. It's like '1' coin per attack. With Shadow Partner, it's '2'. It does crappy damage at first, I'm not sure when maxed, since.. I know no one that even maxed it. Shadow Web isn't even really useful either. <_<

I think he was hinting at how hitting more frequently means more chance for critical damage -> higher DPS.
Not sure if the higher occurrence is balanced out by lesser damage or not.

Helps in certain situations if you run out of stars, I guess...

I always thought more hits = higher chances of landing critical
I just feel that by the time you max it, probably around 80 (if you skip avenger and FJ) and by then you can just hold down a button at newties.

Requesting max damage possible with max SM and SE.

Biggest influences of DPS = speed of the attack and base power of the attack.
Point and case: Battleship cannon. Less shots than TT, comparable speed, way more power.

Lucky 7 - Level 20: MP -16; Damage 150% x 2 Hits
So if my range was 100~100, I would do 2 hits of 150?
SM - Level 30: Uses min. 340 mesos, max. 800 mesos; Basic attack +50% with 10% success rate
Wouldn't basic attack be your range? Meaning if you have 100~100, you have a 10% chance of doing 150 damage? And since SP only gives 80% to the 2nd hit, it would do 150/120. Would the effect of critical and SE really influence SM that much :f6:

SM doesn't go off your attack range.

Shadow Mesos hits hard indeed when maxed, I believe I once saw 20k+ criticals, without SE. But I can't find it on youtube anymore...
And since it's not attack range based, I'm just interested how it works in relation with SE. Both damage wise -and- critical hit chance wise. Base critical at max lvl is 10% chance.
And yeah, like Meso Explosion, Assaulter and Sacrifice, it's once of the few skills who ignore wdef.

I just realized the formula is in the formula compilation thread.
I suppose the +50% makes the max 800 base into 1200 base, times 10 is 12k for the first hit. With SE i suppose it would be +190%?
