I found this rather interesting.. somebody found a way of preserving items after their expiration date (as you can see this nose is from 2 years back and shouldve expired long ago).
Does anybody know how to do this? and are there more items around like this? I could think of tons of expireable items that would be way game unbalancing if they would be around forever

edit: might aswell have posted this in the new "call for action" forum.. oh well i guess it doesnt matter that much

I can imagine:

"ZOMG! *buys*"

*equips* "The item has expired due to it being past the expiration date"

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

I know for certain that when you have a shop up, nothing can expire. I don't know how he did it though, because it would be impossible for him to keep the shop up for 2 years. Also, if he were using the storage to preserve it, it would still be impossible because the item would disappear upon being taken out of storage. The last thing is that if you put the item in legendary spirit, the item expiration date disappears, but its only temporary.

I'm really baffled. I would really like a permanent Rudolph nose though.

Duey?

Duey expires at the end of the month. You'd have to take it out before then. :f6:

Perhaps the answer to this could help those few dudes who still have those four glitched items.

There was a person on BSmarket who still had a Rudolf nose, it didn't expire because the person left the account unlogged in for like 1 and a half years, or something. She was also trying to sell it. (Different nose, her's had 1 DEX as the screenies had shown.)

Edit: Her's also didn't expire or anything when her brother transfered it to his new wind archer and stuff.

i wonder if this is how he did it, and if so then how long you'd have to leave an account unlogged onto

Perhaps it was like what Cash Shop items do; he took the Nose out of Storage/Duey/whatever, ran as fast as he could to the FM and set up a shop and put it in there before it could actually expire. Sometimes when my Cash Shop items say they're gonna expire, it takes them sometimes up to 3 or more minutes pass the expiration date/time to actually expire.

Otherwise, I have no idea how they did it.

That's kinda impossible, as items are supposed to expire as soon as you take them out. The only other way is to unplug your internet cord and rush to the FM, but you'd never make it in time, plus your item would expire when you close store.

The only reasonable explanation is that the expiration date on those items aren't registering, which seems to be supported by this comment:

Now to figure out how to make the expiration date inactivated...

This is very odd :f6:
This guy wants 800m just by selling an item that should have expired in 2007 XD

Maybe if you leave it for over an year in the account, it'll pass the same date the following year and never register again Shine

Even rushing and whatnot shouldnt work. I remember a while ago when there were cassandra events with maple syrups, when I leveled up my mules with it, and lef the syrups there. When I logged in months later, I tried scrolling a leaf quickly before they disappeared/expired, but it wouldnt let me. It seems to register as "gone" the moment I logged in, meaning that while it was still visually there, it wasnt in reality there anymore.

I'm thinking its from leaving an account inactive for a long time, therefore making the expiration date skip and be canceled.
