Have you actually tried it? GSD owns.
Uh...GSD is quite capable of killing everything for you.

Edit: Didn't see the other page.

Spam Suplex. Suplex, run. Suplex, run. Should work, that's all GlitterChompyGlitter did and he survived most of the time.
Dusk Wrote:Everything I've heard about the Witch patch has been positive other than the Manteau thing. Buffs to the fire spells, casting speed on leather armor mastery, flyswatter buff, and I forget what else. I agree with Library being useless anyway.

I didn't know about the Fire buffs, but I guess that doesn't matter at all to me anyway. I guess the Leather buff is good. I tend to disregard it because I do not wear Leather and will not switch to Leather. It might be worth making a set for PvP. Dunno.

The Manteau thing just really bothers me. I do not like seeing its invincibility removed since I've based how I use it almost entirely around that. It's always been in my top favorite spells, and then they go and change it. I may even skill reset when the patch comes.

I don't use Fire either, but the other things are pretty awesome for me. I considered what you said about cloth, but I still prefer to use leather since my focus is PvP and the defense, attack speed, and magic crit make a huge difference. The only thing cloth has is cast speed. Max MP is not a big deal. After the change I don't see any reason to use cloth.
I have library on mine because I'm cheap and it's not my main so I can divert funds that would otherwise go to MP potions.
After I hit 30 I hardly use any mana potions except on dungeons on Kings anyway. And I wear leather and I use level 5 Mana Shield.
My first item made from a recipe..

 Spoiler

Also, I like Floating Castle. The boss reminds me of Pianus. :\

Party or solo? I play a Launcher so I'm too used to draining mp insanely fast.
Is it normal for a battle mage to be able to get lvl 10 mana shield on DFO? o.o

Also, nice belt infection, too bad is weak quality =/

DnF is fun as hell, thanks god for the auction house... i bought the level 20 pink spear for just 100k, and having 3xx phis attack at lvl 20 is way too awesome >_>;

Even with Leather getting a Cast boost, it still does not have as much as Cloth. If a Cloth wearer has the Royal Ring and Cast Speed avatars, a Leather wearer can never match them. Personally, I love it for that alone. Being able to pull out a Gravitas in the blink of an eye in PvP can really catch people off guard. And that's not to mention Cloth is the lightest and awesome for people who enjoy soloing King's dungeons (which is important to me). I just love it.

Plus, the Cloth set I wear gives me +14% Magic Critical. That's not in the same league as Leather, but it's still a beautiful amount. I don't see any other benefit to Leather, since defense means very little to me. I'll have around 22xx defense with my set when it's finished, anyway. That isn't terrible. What does that leave? Attack speed? Fair enough, but I'm quite pleased with mine.

I can definitely see why Leather is and will be the preferred choice. But I think it's silly to rule out Cloth completely. It still has its benefits. I will always wear it.
Well it really depends on what you plan to do with the character, pvp i guess leather, pve i guess cloth?

If you have sets of both armors more power to you Big Grin

Fair enough. I don't have Gravitas yet, and Acid Rain, Lava Potion, and Jackyl are only good for zoning, so cast speed isn't very useful to me in PvP. Besides, the aerial combos and Manteau are the main strengths of a witch in PvP. I'm looking to get 20% cast speed from avatars just so they aren't painfully slow to pull out for PvE in the meantime.

I melee a lot. I'm dusted pretty much 100% of the time and my playstyle in dungeons mostly consists of placing my AoEs in the middle and darting back and forth comboing everything around with normal attacks. Not having the attack speed would make it so much harder to zoom away from monsters to avoid retaliation when I miss them. I would definitely not give it up.

Now, you can't beat the cast speed of cloth, but do you really need that much? Nearly all of the witch spells are AoE placers that last for a long time and have long cooldowns. The only ones that aren't are Chain Florae, which casts nearly instantly anyway, and regular Magic Missle, which I haven't used since level 17. I think the change to leather + a cast speed avatar or two is more than enough.

I do think it's nice how versatile witches are, though. Our styles are completely different even with similar builds. They both work, and that's what matters, I guess.

Either one. I just hit level 32 today and I'm sitting on a pile of over 30 intermediate MP potions now.

I don't use many potions at all now. I have a couple dozen intermediate HP, octopus, and Blue Eucharist as well. This collection was started at level 30. Before then I had almost no potions. Been mostly doing Master/Kings Purgatorium over and over again solo, plus a few Silver Night and Dendroid Jungle runs.
I finally had the balls to try Dragonoid Kings by myself.. and dominated!

I love potfarming now.
Dragonoid any dif is easy >_>

Try not getting gangraped on vestibule, thats not easy...

And i remember farming potions at dragonoid... too bad you can't really do that on DnF, first the drop rate of the hearts on KINGS is stupid, second, you spent like... 10 minutes on dragonoid just to finish EVERY quest related to it... its kinda sad... but hey, at least GSD rapes it with his uber sword and skills >_>

Oh yeah, GSD goes on a perma awaken mode, too bad he doesn't finish it...
I find Vest easy, even without pots and tokens. That's what I used to solo when not potfarming.. that is, until I unlocked Floating Castle (today).
I haven't touched my potions with the exception of a few tough Kings solo grinds. Floating took a small chunk of them, and some recklessness in a few other ones, but I still have around 80 MP pots and just as many HP. Once I get to 1st spine I'll be able to farm easily even more. My Soul Bender doesn't seem to ever use them. MP regen from cloth armor and Afterimage of Keiga for amazing damage reduction (lv4 = 40% physical, 20ish magic in PvE) means my HP and MP don't go down much. My biggest MP drain is Ghost Slash, which is actually way higher level than it needs to be atm (I'm leaving it as is, though). It does amazing damage.

Having both of my ghosts up and spamming Ghost Slash/Moonlight Slash also burns it fast, but I completely regen my MP in about 6-8minutes.

Vestibule is a pita because of the lightswitches. Turn them on and kill the night vision kargels asap. Castellan's is a mix of all the others, and Floating is miniboss hell (Remember Binoche? Keraha? They make a duo appearance with some fairly difficult mobs, and Axion is a beefed up Expeller with the ability to cause all the other expellers in the room to bumrush you at once). The giant eyeballs are fun tho.
I realized why I was missing 19/20 times I shot at the boss in vestibule. I was using a freaking bowgun; when I used a musket, I barely missed. Wee.

Ranger's SO DARN close to 40. Just a few more %... >_>

Done compiling Assaulter Set, almost done with Million Deadshot for my spit. Hate how avatars in shops are so freaking expensive. B> Hat, Torso, Waist, and Shoe avatars for gunner? >_> I find it so painful that I can't find a freaking red suglasses hat from people. It looks like a darn pair of goggles! ;_;
As a battle mage i find the whole sky tower way too easy except for puppet museum, god i hate fucking dogrie... but thats just a boss that annoys me (puppet control anyone?)

And behemoth... so far only tried dendroid and outer wall, and the only thing i have to say, piece of annoying cake...

IMO the eyeballs just take a lot of jumping to avoid.

And this is probably just me being a Monk, but the Binoche/Keraha room is easy. <_<
