"MapleStory 2"

BombsAway Wrote:Maybe I haven't been clear in my last 32 rageposts but they're not going to move characters over. You won't lose anything. If old jobs are going to be rebalanced, they'll be rebalanced in the current game, not a new game. The new game will feature either legendaries or completely new jobs.

Maple Story 2 will have absolutely nothing to do with maplestory except maybe some interlinking stories and maybe some extra features. No company is stupid enough to do anything like what you people are speculating about, not even nexon.

Watching you all talk about this is like reading basil. Read previous posts before posting, jesus christ.

Sorry, my headache from last night wouldn't let me re-read the entire Maplestory 2 thread. I'll be raging way less about Maplestory 2 then.

MapleStory 2.. YES, PLEASE.

I can't agree with you more! I'd like to have a totally different system implemented in the game, like more reactive NPCs and such.

NEXON tried doing that by making yourself "talk" to the NPCs (e.g.: Aran quests), but, still, the NPCs are so passive.

For example, I'd also like to see a new system which allows NPCs to fight with you. I remember someone talking about the idea of Jack fighting with you in CWKPQ. That would've been awesome, really. But it's actually almost impossible for the current game system to implement something like that, as they would have to change/add a lot of stuff.

Maybe in MapleStory 2 we'll be able to see something like that? It's so depressing to see how they're trying to make NPCs more reactive but they're failing hard. For example, the Aran Wolf in Lith Harbor for the last Aran pre-quests. When you complete its quest, a "run-away" animation is triggered. But guess what? While he runs away, he's MAGICALLY back to the place he was before. Something like "hi sense". Then, "goodbye sense".

They've used this NPC-animation-triggering-when-you-complete-a-quest thingy for some Pirate quests as well, but again, what's the point when the current game system doesn't allow you to permanently make NPCs disappear or be more reactive in general? For example, the Dolphin in the ship in Nautilus Harbor. He's supposed to be a man. A quest of him asks you to get a rock from the energy control room or something, and after you give him, he transforms to a human. Wow, that's cool!

A few seconds later: "wut?"; he's back to normal. Another good example is Maya, who is always sick even if you give her the medicine.

What about that girl who got trapped from the Dragons controlled by HornTail? (was her name.. Moira?)

Well, even if you defeat HornTail, she'll always be in that trap, no matter what. Makes sense: she said they casted on her a permanent spell which makes her blocked there until she dies.

What a sad story. But, obvious developers' excuse is obvious: they only made her say that because the current game system can't make her leave that trap. Therefore, they had to make such a sad story just because the game isn't able to perform such operations. Sad, isn't it?

Well, HOPEFULLY MapleStory 2 will resolve all these problems, making game-play more flexible, features-wise.

Absolutely right. What I'm thinking is, they'll release the Black Magician in MapleStory 1 and they probably (and hopefully) already have an idea for the place and the boss fight. They're just waiting to finish the new classes and release the "major content" they're talking about.

Actually, we might see the Black Magician in MapleStory in 2 years if not less.

Afterall, all these new legendary classes were made for a sole purpose: to fight against the Black Magician. Hopefully, they'll improve Adventurers as well.

I'm sorry, 昇平森膣, but you're wrong. We don't know how many the Black Wings are and how powerful their most powerful member is. In fact, there would be no reason for NEXON to release these new legend classes, if not for the storyline. Because, until now, nobody has yet defeated Pink Bean, they're just trying to make new powerful classes so that people will actually start defeating it with them and with the help of their new damage-reduction skills, therefore, killing Pink Bean will become ALMOST as easy as defeating HornTail. Well, probably harder, but.. almost there.

The new almost-undefeatable boss will be the Black Magician, instead, which will officially end MapleStory's storyline.

They might actually start updating MapleStory 1 less after the release of MapleStory 2. We can't actually know that. I know, there can be two separate teams working on the two games, but.. what would NEXON Korea add to MapleStory 1 after the Black Magician? Maybe new PQs? Maybe new training areas..? But then? The storyline would just end there, unless they want to make changes to it, which would suck. Once you give the users a particular storyline, you shall not change it under any circumstance.

A possibility would be starting a new storyline, maybe.

To me, MapleStory 2 is just made so that the storyline will continue even after the Black Magician is defeated. There will be a totally new storyline, and, who knows, maybe it'll be even cooler than the actual one. I'm looking forward even bigger storylines than MapleStory 1. It'd be really cool. Reacting NPCs, cooler storyline, more training places, and new features is what I'm really looking for.

This MapleStory 2 has the potential to be really cool. Hopefully the developers will do a good job with it.

alot of people play this game so you can't just make an NPC appear and then disappear when the quest is done when another person walks in and wants to do the same quest, plus HT is supposed to be repeatable and taking out an NPC that lets you redo the quest is just stupid, they did do stuff like what you are talking about with Francis the genius puppeteer!, when you walk into the room he is an NPC when you finish talking you start killing him, what help would jack be at CWKPQ? he isn't a class so he can't do any of the sigils

we ARE able to defeat PB it's just that we don't have enough time to take so much HP down, a weak mage like evan won't be much help there, maybe some of its skills will help but not enough to beat the timer

Well, i'm getting more and more disapointed with Nexon Korea nowadays.
MapleStory 2... Announcements of new jobs coming soon ( Without mentioning the separate CS storage madness.).
Seriously, maybe they're trying to remake MS, since they're lazy enough to fix the problems. Or it's just a new way to get more money.

Well, something like that was made for some Aran quests, so, why not. I guess I was wrong for saying that there isn't such a system in Maple. It's just that the developers are lazy.

And I'm not saying that removing the NPC to get to HT would be a good idea, they could just make the one in the cage disappear and another one with the same function (or that same NPC) appear outside.

Jack wouldn't help in the sigils stage, but only in the boss stage. During the sigils stages he'd just follow you as a passive NPC, then at the boss stage he'd use special skills to help you with the boss fight.

I know that Pink Bean could be killed if there wasn't that timer, but, still, the legendary classes are probably made so that not all the ranged classes will die AND more damage will be dealt. Therefore there will be enough time to defeat it.

Nexon may have ups and downs and mess up a good bit, but you guys seriously have no hope at all o.0.. Maplestory 2 is most likely fixing what everyone's complained about for so long, unbalanced classes, the long grind, etc. Look at all these dexless people for example.. sure you don't have to be dexless, but chances are you're most likely gonna get ksed easily, kicked out of parties for weak damage, I hate the idea of wearing some stupid sauna robe, the fact they only have weapons that reach 120 when the max level is 200? I'm sure there doing all this to fix past mistakes, when maplestory started the creator i'm sure was only beginning his career, sure Nexon doesn't have good customer support at all, but they know how to make there games, just wait a see what comes out of this, I'm sure we'll be hearing more about the details sometime in 2010.. just wait and see.

*implements maplestory2* maplestory gradually declines in population...
people either quit altogether or quit to go to the maplestory2 (b/c 2 must mean better)....
and no new players will come to maplestory b/c they'll go to maplestory2 b/c of the omg 2 means its better dilemma.
the two cannot coexist, its just not possible.

But again, maybe maplestory2 will just be nexon adding a "2" after the current maplestory, and introducing bunches of new content.

Its best to just wait and see though, this has to be at least a year away, maybe i'll have quit by then anyways.

Somehow I have the feeling Maplestory2 is going to be the ultimate pedo game off all time:

- More pink
- More shiny stuff
- More NX wh0ring
- More kiddie stuff
- More ludi crap pedo style then your eyes can handle
- More shietty happy kiddie crap stuff then I can think of now...
- No more true 2D, but crappy 3D-flat style (think of donkey kong country, but then "real" 3D) -.-

Though...
I would like it if Maplestory would become a bit more dark themed (like World of Warcraft), but I think I'll think Koreans like the lollypop-kiddie-style more (ludi / etc) then darker themes...
