Dark Crystal & Maker

I've heard (2) different methods of this crystals working in conjunction with maker skill.


Theory (1): Dark Crystal acts as a chaos scroll on a certain % base.

i.e.

Basic = 30% Chaos Scroll
Inter = 60% Chaos Scroll
Advanced = 90% Chaos Scroll

So essentially each one does the same but at different rates.

Theory (2): Is simply, basic is a variance of (2), intermediate (3) and advanced (5), same as the regular crystals.


i.e. + or - 2 for basic, + or - 3 for intermediate and + or - 5 for advanced

Has anyone used a dark crystal in a non-advanced form and received a +-4 or +-5 bonus?

Can anyone shed some light on this?

That wasn't anywhere in the question. "Chaos scroll effect" should imply that.

Basic Dark Crystal
Random Stat = 2

Intermediate Dark Crystal
Random Stat = 3

Advanced Dark Crystal
Random Stat = 5

I'll leave you to speculate on that.

As for chaos scroll effects, it's not really possible to separate the Dark Crystal's randomness from regular Maker randomness. In the case of my Reverse Taragon, I used an Adv. STR, Adv. DEX, and Adv. Dark Crystal. Both my STR and DEX stats came out +8 above the average, and my accuracy stat went up +1 above average. It's known that the Dark Crystal does not tamper with secondary stats.

I thought it worked in the same way as chaos scrolls, in that it does +1 or -1 (50/50 chance) a number of times, 2 for basic, 3 for interm, 5 for advanced, to each stat.

I'll leave you to speculate on that.

I dont have any knowledge on how data extraction works so I can't verify the validity of that.

If you don't know how the extraction works, you can either ask someone that knows (I don't tell however), or you can learn yourself like I did.

I laughed so hard at the first theory. Silly people. Anyways, thread ended on post #4.

It is proven that
-DC only change primairy stats
-if there is an effect its the same for all primairy stats (+3 dex +5 str doesnt happen, its either +3/+3 or +5/+5)
- the 2,3,5 for basic/int/advanced are minimum and maximum, for an advanced DC +4 is possible

now this applys to both theorys.
The easiest way to test which theory is right would be makering some items with a basic DC and wait till -/+4 or 5 which proves theory 2 is wrong of it doesnt happen for like 20 times its safe to assume theory 1 is wrong (+3 or -3 wouldnt prove anything since even without à stimulator an item can turn out just a little bit below or above accuracy). Best would be doing this with lvl 50 mage shoes since they might actually be worth à few million mesos if they have high int.

I think theory 1 is wrong though, somebody probiably reasoned it worked like this after getting +4 from a mid grade or +3 from à basic grade DC.
