Been in a relationship with the same girl for over 6 years, none of this has ever happened.

What is this?

Don't have to have experienced it if you've seen everyone around you go through it. On top of that, people love talking about this crap, even if the listener doesn't give a rats ass about it.

I'm happy for you, and imma let you finish but it's too bad a vast majority of relationships don't end up as fortunate as yours. Though, I do seem to recall in an other thread you said you and your partner found it strange to not fight a lot, but perhaps I'm mixing you up with something else I read. Or maybe I dreamed it, hard to tell since my memory is so fuzzy 90% of the time.

By the way, find it pretty hard to believe that you can maintain a relationship for 6 years without spending a considerable amount of time, effort, and funds to keep it alive. If you have, then my first part of this response is really emphasized.

I can't remember posting something like that. But my memory could be worst than yours.

Define a considerable amount of time, effort, and funds. Because we do spend a lot of time together, but it's not forced. Effort hardly since we both enjoy being together. And funds not so much at all because she is the type of girl that values love over physical things. Hell, if I got her a diamond ring on my own she would most likely turn it down.

If it's not forced, then that's cool, relationships are meant for you. If your money isn't constantly being blown on her, that's fine as well. Not everyone can get into a relationship like that.

I'm not much of a relationship person. I hate spending time with people, regardless of who they are. This is why my family rarely talks to me and I have no real friends.

Even if I did like being around people, I don't find it worth the effort to find someone who meets such a high standard I've set, one nearly impossible for anyone to reach. No, I've no plans on lowering those for anyone and "just settling for what I can get".

I'm obviously not the relationship person, even if I didn't have a negative perception over relationships in general judging by what every relationship I've ever witness in real life and online turn into. All following similar steps in their downwards spiral.

They start off peachy and fine, not a care in the world. Lovey dovey, feeling like they can't find any faults with their partner and think they'll be in it for the long run. Fast forward some and the relationship starts going through the general hardships. By this point they may still seem like a normal lovey dovey couple to others, still saying sweet nothings to each other. But on the inside they don't exactly feel as bright and optimistic as they used to. They still may feel that their relationship will last, but notice the problems here and there. But that's okay, because love is all about accepting the good and bad of your partner, right?

Fast forward more and it gets to the point where one or both parties feel that they're hanging on to something that will easily escape from their grasp. perhaps they still have feelings for each other, but realize that they don't feel as happy with that person as they once where. they may hope for the relationship to last, but feel by this point it's hard to actually make it last.

Then it can get to the part where either one person flat out breaks up, or they kinda stay in "relationship limbo", where they're not really in a relationship yet kinda are. Nobody wants to end it, so it just becomes stressful for both parties and drags on longer than it should. They realize that it's pretty much done for but don't want to let go, or possibly don't know how without hurting the other. Ironically, this ends up hurting the other more, since they have to sit back and endure a relationship that's dead, hanging on to hope that will never come to them.

So really, I'm glad for you and all. You seem to have a personality most fit for a relationship and found someone with a personality that fits. I'm going to take your word for it and assume you're not omitting things or lying to yourself to keep your argument solid. Your relationship is the first I've seen to kinda follow that pseudo Hollywood happy-couple relationship. Not that I know your relationship in depth or anything, but from the little you've said so far, it's certainly better than any relationship I've seen unfold.

I also have very high standards. The fact that I gave myself the nickname "1 in a billion" should tell you a lot.

To be honest with you this is the first real relationship I've ever been in. Sure when I was like 10 and younger I had those meaningless little relationships where you pass notes in class along the lines of "do you like me? check yes or no" but nothing serious. As I got older and my interest in girls became more it also became less since I pretty much dismissed every female that came into view. And I wasn't the type to go looking for someone I liked and liked me.

I didn't even go looking for her, we both just sort of crossed paths. And I know how lame and cliche that sounds, but it's the truth

I am not really hiding anything. We've never had a fight on purpose just for the hell of it, but we have had fights before, nothing serious though where it leaves both parties pissed at each other. In fact when the rare times (I can count the amount of serious fights we have had on two hands) we do have a fight we both tend to blame ourselves instead of getting pissed at each other and taking it out on each other.

I wouldn't call my relationship perfect or anything, but I guess it is better than the "typical" relationship.

Anyway, how did this thread about a fake vagina become Spidey's and Meta's relationship talk?

My standards are so ridiculously high I've never even gone through the "kiddie crush" stage. I've yet to find someone in real life that I'd even think about getting together with. I've been asked a handful of times, but turn down offers since I've no feelings for them and I'm not the type to "take the offer and see how it goes".

Everyone I say this to mentions they too have high standards. I don't consider standards "high" unless they're to the point where no human could possibly meet your criteria. Either because they're impossible to begin with, or your standards contradict each other, making it impossibly to meet someone like that unless they had a split personality or something (which may or may not be what you're looking for).

I don't remember going through that stage myself. As I said I got those silly notes in class, but I can't remember ever returning them.
