In the minigame UI, you'll notice that there's 3 slots to the right of the host. And the two on the right will remain forever empty. Why wouldn't Nexon make it so that there can be spectators for these games? Especially Omok. People actually enjoy and learn from these games o.O
It could also act as a waiting line?

Weren't there more minigames in other versions that never made it over to GMS and used the 3rd slot for 3 player action?
I think I read about it quite some time ago. My memory sucks, I'd appreciate it if anyone else could correct or confirm me on this.

Sounds like a good idea to me, but only if they added a medal for having a certain number of wins.

2400 score is about expert level and takes a good amount of dedication. I think 2300 is medal-worthy since it is still do-able for anyone that's mildly dedicated.

People would just make loss mules if there was a game medal.

I could care less about a medal and my score. I've actually suprised people by having a much lower score than my skill level, because I frequently play people like Neil and get my ass handed to me!
My rule is simply that my wins must be greater than my losses.

Ah, but the good thing about the points system is that it's not directly tied to your win/loss record (although it is a good indicator). If you kept on playing mules that had 2000 points and winning, you'd probably only hit 2250 or something and never go higher.
I have about 30% more losses than I do wins in Omok, yet my score is 225x or something.
But I guess if you're REALLY dedicated with the mules thing, you could probably get the medal.

2400 really isn't that difficult to hit in Omok if you actually know what you're doing in the game, and are only shooting for the medal. I have a low level character whose record is around 150-15, and it's well over 2500 as far as I remember.

Agreed. I never really play unless I am waiting around for something (like HT/ZaK) and I still happen to be high 2400s (although, I am a master at chess, so these kinda things come more natural to me). Anyone over 2550/2600 is reallllly good.
Regardless, spectators would be pretty cool to have. Could be something that might be implemented in the future, but knowing Nexon that is unlikely.

The idea of spectators is just another reason I've been working on creating an web page to play Maple's omok live with other players.

You misspelled my name.

It is true that the difference between points is a major factor of how many points are gained and lost. Also the player that goes first plays is a major factor. *Buying exact formula*
PS. You would get quite a bit higher than 2250, I would suspect you would get into 2400s maybe 2500s before you stop gaining points without trading off lose mules. But you would need to have to have the loser rejoin the board each time. Once you get into the 2700s however you will stop gaining points from 2000pt players (even on their start).

Yea they should improve the system..
here's my idea on how to improve it slightly:
1.player who creates the game should be able to expel other people/ban them
2.he will be able to decide how many spectators can join the minigame
3.spectators can register into the game as well for the next match.
spectators will be marked by 'S'
the ready player will be marked by 'R'
the next player to play against the creator of the game will be marked in 'N' as Next
and 5 players at one minigame maximum

Oh man, this game is pretty sweet. Why can't more games have cutscenes that you want to see more of?

LF> Othello/Reversi, 2 players or 4 players allowed~ For 4 player reversi you will need 2 different area omok boards. (1 vic set and 1 ludi set)
