Nexon's BBB rating
#1
It was an F at some point. Then it turned into a B+. Two days or so ago it was a D. Now it's an A-.

Nexon America's BBB rating gets raped by a steady influx of complaints. Thing is, apparently there is a way for the company to challenge a complaint's veracity, at which point the customer has to respond to that by filling out stuff. I've never actually filed iwth the BBB for any reason, but I've heard this from people that have. Dissatisfaction with Nexon is not the same as dissatisfaction with a company that scammed you while repairing your car, or sold you a broken refrigerator and wont' let you return, so that's why, I suspect, that the Nexon rating fluctuates.

Does anybody know further stuff about this matter? If there's anyone that's actually filed a BBB complaint against Nexon, I'd like to hear how it went. Regardless of whether people here like Maple or DFO, we all know Nexon is not an A- or a B+ company.

My experience with the BBB and nexon has gone VERY good.

The back story: I bought a namechange on my old nl, activated it, and 3 months later it expired. I made tickets for 2 years, and they never responded to a single one.

After making a complaint with the BBB, about 30 days later, nexon contacted me. They promptly gave me 10k maplepoints and (3 months later) changed my name to the desired change (so technically, i got a free namechange.)

From personal experience, i'd say that nexon doesn't take tickets seriously, if there's something that needs to be fixed revolving around money, BBB is the way to go.

Until they actually get, that we're gonna keep using the BBB against them until they do take there system seriously, without BBB.

192 - Agreeing to perform according to their contract

Lesson for the community: BBB is the actual Nexon ticket system.

You might want to make a detailed topic about this and get it stickied. I only found this out now, and I was around Maple since 2006. In my high level legit guild, nobody mentioned using BBB against the Nexonazis, and they knew a lot of stuff.

I once filled a BBB complaint for the iTCG issue, since they didn't respond to my ticket after several months.

Less than one month later, they magically fix the iTCG issue! Lolwut!

Have a problem? Fill a complaint to the BBB, and rest assured that they'll resolve it in a heartbeat. Because it's their reputation which can be compromised.

NEXON America? A-????

about 2 years ago, i had an issue with maplestory that I get BSOD half of the time I get on maplestory. I first logged ticket and all it gave me was bull sh!T, then after hearing of BBB, I filed a complaint, about a few month later I got a mail (I live in toronto, canada) it's nexon's reply with more BS about it my hardware manufactorer's fault, i should go complain to them (althought somehow I don't get it anymore) and in the message it says I have until a date that's already passed for me to reply to this, if I don't it means I'm satisffied. So yea, Nexon won because I failed to reply to the mail 10 day before I actually recieved it.

They are. They continue to generate HUGE income regardless of what people call "mediocre" updates or "bad" customer service. At the end of the day, that's the only thing that matters.

BBB doesn't rate based on a company's income, it rates based on how the company treats it's costumers.

Which means Nexon deserves that rating. People just like to complain about insignificant things.

I find it surprising Nexon would worry much about its BBB rating. How many teens are going to check with BBB before downloading a game?

Actually the small volume of reports there is more a measure of how few people understand what their options are regarding complaining about a business.

On a side note to the rest of the topic - Nexon has previously told people who submit BBB complaints that they don't respond to agencies like the BBB and essentially consider themselves to be above concerns of that nature, despite the fact they repeatedly react to things brought to them by a BBB complaint.
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.

I'm thinking of going to the BBB with the issue of the monsterbook being wiped after a server transfer. I logged a ticket, and they gave me BS about not being able to return items and mesos a hacker stole, and to not give out my pass and crap. The ticket took forever to even send, because their ticket system is screwed up. So, I might look into the BBB for a solution. I'll never be able to get boss PQ cards again, so. >_>;

Nexon is a C company. They need to care more and bullpomegranate less.

Ok what the hell, Nexon isn't what I'd call even a decent company, but this is a load of pomegranate.

Your computer problems are not a concern of Nexon, nor should they be. Hundreds of thousands of people, if not millions, run maple without any problem. It could easily be, and most likely is, one of a million billion things not related to maple. This is how computers work, a company can't make sure their program runs with every single other program/ setup/ driver version etc out there. If you're having a problem like that, you troubleshoot and you fix it.

Is there any way we can get their rating down to an F which is the true indication of their customer service....

Nexon is just like any typical business out there. they only do anything major when its their dignity on the line; all other times they just go about business as usual. got an issue? are you going to respond to the BBB? no? well, tough luck peon, now go out and make us more money.
