If anything, Evan is more powerful than Aran. MP zerk? Demolition? Ults? This class has the best part of almost every other job. Only thing it's missing is poison mist.

No one knows what best skills to train with and how to use them best if they are the first to ever play. They have little time to get used to playing the class too. Oh and yeah they could just plain suck, it's not like they pick the best players for Tespia.

They have Onix's Blessing, Magic Resistance, Magic Shield as well as Magic Guard so the 10% drop shouldn't be that much of an issue.
I hope they speed up those attacks because they seem really slow. I saw some videos on Insoya and Earthquake/Flame Wheel look as slow as Explosion. Flame Wheel is a horizontal attack while Earthquake seems to be an AoE attack so they don't really replace each other. The great thing about Flame Wheel is its giant horizontal range. In the video I saw, Flame Wheel can hit nearly all of the middle platform of the Skele dungeon. Maybe someone will upload those videos onto youtube.
The other thing I dislike about Evans is how quickly skills are replaced, like other people have also said. They have far too many attacking skills that become completely useless later. I don't even see the point of Blaze (the Chain Lightning-esque skill). Unless it's substantially faster than Flame Wheel, it doesn't even outdamage it on two monsters. On one monster, Illusion is still stronger than it even if you factor in an Ewand boost. Blaze only beats Illusion on fire-weak monsters in terms of single target damage. Those are the only problems I see with this class. If they sped up Flame Wheel and Earthquake and upgraded some of the pointless attacks, they'd be a solid class overall. EDIT: Here is the video on Insoya if anyone wants to see/upload on youtube. http://www.insoya.com/bbs/zboard.php?id=ucc&no=7299 This one shows Flame Wheel in action.

Zendaine Wrote:Level 125 Evan at Blue Wyverns posted by Spadow. Does the guy have booster on? Because that was painful to watch. Their power isn't looking too impressive with that video.*Ew. Flame Wheel takes so long to cast, but can someone explain how the hell the Evan was only taking ~600-900 damage from the Skele's SHOOP DA WHOOPs? I can guess Magic Resistance (-20% magic damage), but he didn't have Magic Shield -30%, but has 20 second duration and 40 second cooldown (so 20 seconds without it on). I know that much, since from 0:07-0:27 when he recasted buffs I didn't see any buff disappear.

It was the hermit because it has Claw booster and it doesn't say Evan in Korean for the playerÂ’s job. Even with booster a lot of the attacks are still really slow.

So yeah, those attacks are really slow, though he doesn't have booster on in the second video. Illusion looks fast though. He is also taking very little damage from Skeles in the first video (like 900 max). Maybe Magic Resistance blocks more than 20%?

Earthquake's range is really strange...

^ I see that shield skill at the beginning of the vid... clearly a party skill.
-30% damage to party for 20 seconds every 40, available at level 45. o_o
2009-11-22, 05:46 PM
So at a boss...
15% (Achilles) + 20% (Powerguard) + 20% (Combo Barrier) + 30% (Resistance) = 85% damage reduction I surely hope they can think of better party skills. Wind Booster was kind of a let down.

Alilatias Wrote:Level 130 Evan showcasing higher level skills at Newties (sorry, no Dark Fog yet) This leads me to believe that the 10th mastery comes at a much later level and not 120. No level 120+ Evan videos have showcased any of the 10th mastery skills yet. I really hope they speed up those attacks because they look painfully slow. Earthquake and Flame Wheel look like they're Evan's main training skills so they should be much faster than that.
For convenience, I've categorized all the skills from all masteries by what they do. This hopefully makes it easier to think about all the skills as a whole.
Note that cast times are presumably Normal(6), and completely theoretical.
