The argument is redundant, because basically EVERY class has higher damage than mages at bosses, adding one more class which has higher DPS is just another drop in the bucket. By any strech of logic, they should already be replaced with the current classes following this method of thinking.

Then I don't see what's being replaced. The archmages that don't exist at bosses? People aren't going to ditch Archmages for hunting/training purposes.

People wouldn't want to train with an AM after the party exp change anyway.

[COLOR="Green"]With party EXP nerfed, training with anyone is barely worth it, unless they are a Bishop with HS, and even then it's pushing it. This guy just rapes the hell out of the last shreds of AMs.

Where k is a constant depending on int value. It wont' change depending on the class.
I think that person said 44~48 mp at a certain level (something close to level 30). I'm pretty sure the person saw that from the videos he watched over few level ups. So that means that 44~48 already has the 'k' included, i don't think the base mp increase is 44~48.

Not everyone plays to boss/sell leech. Right now I'm only levelling so I can kill at O4 (and future training spots) more effectively. The only bosses I ever fight are Pap and Zak, which Archmages can fight just fine. I care more about making my character more powerful all around than being able to kill a certain boss.
And who says Archmages can't boss at all? They just suck at it. The requirement to do pretty much anything in this game is just to have friends/acquaintances who are willing to do it with you.

I have a better idea, all 4th job skills have a 60 second cooldown  .
Edit since I don't feel like adding another post: I don't think there'd be anything wrong with adding a cooldown to the ultimate skills for arch mages, so long as all of the other skills we have are beefed up to compensate somewhat for the change, and the mp cost is drastically reduced for them.

I don't understand.. like Dusk said, not all AM's live to leech or sell leech. And how is a mage with a cooldown on their ultimate better than a mage w/out one especially for a boss like HT where maintaining wyvern spawn is a must.

i have rarely seen mages @ ht and bishop can use genesis to kill those if really need...if not a warrior (usually drk) stays down to clear the spawn

Who wants to bet following the line of stereotyped plots that one of the next classes will be someone seeking vengeance because a high ranked member of the Black Wings (correct me if I screwed up the name) messed with their family at childhood and placed a dark curse on them with the power of the dark magician carried within it.
Anyway, more on topic; these guys are one hell of a jack of all trades. I don't know for sure about their power and such, but to have basically all elements, a KB skill, critical, outstanding buffs and revival skills, MP berserk, and an overall badass looking dragon they certainly make a good first impression.

we use AM's all the time for body fight. people dont realize how much damage they can actually give out on the body.
