Evan's Story

So, from what I understood, Evan is the name of the Dragon. A farm guy dreams about meeting a huge black dragon in a forest, and when he wakes up, he finds a strange symbol on his hand, which means that he's going to be Evan's master, and he finds the Evan's egg as well. The Evan is probably a legendary dragon who once fought at the time of the war against the Black Mage. At that time, Evan probably had another master, which probably was one of the "five heroes" who fought against the Black Mage. Now that Evan (or its spirit) felt that the Black Mage is coming back soon in the Maple World, he decided to choose a guy which is going to become his new master and train with him. The Dragon Evan is going to start as a baby Dragon, and will become stronger after a long training. It's like the Evan's spirit is still there and it felt the Black Mage's presence. Therefore, he decided to revive and to choose a guy to become his master.

This isn't the real story, but just a speculation.

Do YOU know the real story? What role does Utah have in all this? What about that new NPC in the house you wake up in after dreaming of the encounter with the Dragon Evan?

The story is still unclear to me. Does anyone know the actual one? :f6:

I believe it makes more sense to view the young hero as a descendant of the "old" Evan.

I know this does not quite answer your question, but is it me or is the Evan storyline (especially the cutscene) based on the Eragorn story (or movie, whichever you prefer)?

People have confirmed it says "Evan and his dragon", so the little dragon's name is not Evan.

This could change, but at the moment it's true.

Well, since the hero was a farmer who resided near or in Henesys it is possible Utah and Camilla are his friends which, knowing stories, gets them involved. I'm unsure what to think of the hero himself. For all we know he could just be a random farmer chosen by the Dragon.

Honestly, as many people have already said, the class is essentially the story of Eragon. I wouldn't hesitate to guess that some later events in the series will be metaphorically represented in Evan quest lines.

My theory is that the Black Mage transformed Evan into the big dragon, who is now dying and must give his offspring to the Maplers to defeat the Black Mage!

Well, it could as well be a legendary non-existing area.

Maybe the Dragon is the Black Magician's pet?
And the Black Magician abandoned it wounded after getting hurt in a fight. Then, a random farmer felt like something is making his body go to a certain place, weird connection. He eventaully finds the Dragon, and decides to help it. The Dragon wants to revenge on The Black Magician, so he gives the farmer an egg to raise an army to fight against the black magician. One of the five heroes is the ancestor of "Evan", and he was the one who brought the Dragon down. After doing that, he felt terribly sorry, and decided to engrave a spell-tatto on his hand in the memory of the Dragon.

Well, that's just an idea. Anyway, since "Shinso" fights along the Cygnus Knights, it could've been that the Dragon fought along with The Black Magician army. (Since they're both huge birds, sleeping in the same pose, opposite colors...)
