err... not gonna put rolo yet... I'm not that far into season 2 yet...

euphie

Mao was really insane imo... and euphie would be the craziest IMO if it wasn't for nina's insane table fetish xd

Already watched Death note, great anime, kira's laugh was priceless xd

Watched excel saga, slayers, db/z/gt, sailor moon (don't ask... i was young >_>), ermm, pretty much of the "old" anime... gundam wing too... forgot which one but i know i watched it.. FMA, Brotherhood... hmm bokurano (didn't like it), Vandread 2nd stage... cannot remember more...

hmm well, i'm not sure what are my preferences in anime, I'm a "i like almost everything" kind of guy, so give me ideas and ill look into them Big Grin

Don't be ashamed of Moon, there are tons of guys who like it. Princess Tutu is a pretty damn girly anime too, but apparently it's a big hit with guys too, from what I see.

You may like Magical Lyrical Girl Nanoha. Particularly season 2 or so. I think I had a chart of the series somewhere. It's pretty generic first 3 episodes or so. Gets a bit interesting around 4-5, then gradually picks up. Season 2 is pretty much awesome from episode 1 on. It's like DBZ meets Magical Girl (Sailor moon) minus the infinite powerups and 5 trillion episodes.

Excel Saga is a pretty unique show. Puni Puni Poemi is by the same guy, so you may like that. It's only like 2 episodes if I recall correctly, but filled with that unique sense of humor. It even has a main character who talks at the speed of light.

Vandread, hmm let me think of a series that's like that. I mean, it's the typical harem+mech series with the splash of comedy.

Ah, actually, you may like Eureka 17. Perhaps you'd be into X'amd as well.

Zephyr Wrote:well... except for that man on man thing... was it yuri or yaoi? yaoi right? xd

Yaoi. If you ever get into it, you should watch Boku No Pico first.

Edit: Schiff ninja'd some of my suggestions I was about to edit this post with, so I'll just re-enforce his list by saying everything there seems to fit your tastes. Except maybe Higurashi, not sure if that's your thing, but give it a try.

The whole "half of evangelion = creators messed up life into the screen" thing made it boring... first half was ok...

Watched the movie of cowboy bebop... never understood it, could watch it though.

Star Drake Wrote:You can't really classify euphie as insane considering she was under the control of Lelouch's geass.

Well... she did act like a psycho peach... that still counts xd

Edit: im not ashamed of moon... but its not something you go telling around... not that it matters... half if not all my classmates are either gay or females so they can't really tell me "lol u gay" xd

I liked the ending that was in End of Evangelion better than the ending of the original anime.

Oh, and if you like Gurren Lagann, you may be interested in Gunbuster and it's sequel Diebuster. Gunbuster is one of Gainax's old works, so by today's standards it may seem a bit "corny" with some of it's stuff, but it's a pretty nice series, especially if you liked Gundam.

It's sequel, Diebuster, takes a different approach. For instance, Gunbuster has a more "realistic" feel to it, while Diebuster completely takes place in a more abstract environment. In fact, Gurren Lagann got some stuff from Diebuster (then again, Gainax loves re-using themes in their works.)

Diebuster also takes place in the same universe as FLCL, if you're interested in that kinda thing.

If you liked Sakura and Sailor moon then you might as well try Princess Tutu (and Nanoha, but I recommended that earlier).

Nanoha is a more...er.. "manly" magical girl series, with more hotbloodedness. Princess Tutu is very girly, if you can't tell from it's name, but I've gotten lots of guys to enjoy it.

I actually haven't seen the anime for xxxHolic yet. I've read the manga but kinda drifted away from it around volume 14 or so because it tied too much into Tsubasa's storyline (which I personally didn't like so much.)

I mean, it started out okay but I don't know what the hell CLAMP did with it after.

Speaking of CLAMP - Chobits, you seen it yet? Pretty short series.

Did you know that the newer season of Slayers aired earlier this year? You give it a watch yet? If you haven't, get on it.

Nope, have heard of, never seen it(chobits)

The xxxholic anime is "fun" there no storyline whatsoever (IMO) i see it like the lovechild of magical knight and sakura... since well.. black bunny that looks like the white bunny from magical, plus the fact that the woman that hires the main dude in the series helped clow to mage the clow cards AND she's keeping sakura's staff in her basement >_>

The series itself is about this dude thats in contact with the paranormal world... not much about it in the series... i can't really tell really... i just like it for the lulz moments.

If you like sci-fi, and it seems you do, you must watch Ghost in the Shell. All other sci-fi pales in comparison. (Except Cowboy Bebop, but that show truly excels for reasons other than the sci-fi elements.)

I think i SHOULD watch cowboy... heard good stuff from it, and the movie seemed like fun too...

God there's so much to watch...

oh yeah, I've watched gantz too... gory and crap, and they censored the sex scenes in the tv, but not like thay add more boobage than the anime itself >_>

What are you into? You seem to like CLAMP a lot. But I mean.. like some action? Comedy? Romance? MOE?!?!?

It's easier when you aren't picky.. Out of the list of anime I've seen, very few have disappoint.

For fighting I guess I would suggest stuff like RuroKen, Fist of the North Star, Uhm.. YuYu Hakusho has to be my second favorite anime, practically has everything. Comedy.. Well my favorite is Puni Puni Poemy, random and NSFW. Cromartie high is also a favorite among comedy fans.

For the lulz watch School Days. You think it's a romance, but then it flips that s'hit around on you. Goes from High school drama (12 episodes) to Elfen Lied (13th episode)... Good stuff, plus it's short.

If you're into trippy anime then go for stuff like Gantz, Eden of the East (Sorta new but great), and GitS.

EDIT - Flame of Recca is a good shonen too.

Easier to keep track of your ish. Yeah YuYu Hakusho is just wow. My first actual anime series and nothing has really replaced it as my favorite except Gurren Lagann. Great stuff.

Moe isn't really a genre to be honest... It's just some anime happen to be very cute and have innocent and have modest characters that moe-tards like to call moeblobs.

Some titles that can be considered is stuff like K-On! and Lucky Star. Your prime examples right there.

Yeah, I like xxxHolic when it's like that. When it's not really as story based, it was cool. I know exactly what you're talking about because I enjoyed the first volumes of the xxxHolic manga. However, somewhere along the lines, it seemed CLAMP thought "lets throw Tsubasa's story into xxxHolic!"

I mean, the two series were interacting with each other since volume 1, but it'd only be 1 scene every other volume where the Tsubasa characters need Yuko's help in the other dimension. It wasn't too bothering, because it contributed more to the Tsubasa storyline (which I dropped a few volumes in) than the xxxHolic storyline. However, CLAMP liked the idea of throwing around their storylines together, so they ended up making Tsubasa and xxxHolic VERY closely tied together to the point where xxxHolic and Tsubasa basically combined as series because of their storyline interaction. It was a very dumb move on their part. I didn't start reading xxxHolic to read Tsubasa, I read xxxHolic for xxxHolic! They should have kept it as subtle hints or something. But no, they had to make things strange.

Remember what you said about Watauki being Sakura's son? Well apparently, according to CLAMP's messed up paradoxical storyline, he's not really the song of Card Captor Sakura's Sakura, as strange as that is. And Card Captor Sakura's Sakura died in a car crash or something. A FREAKING CAR CRASH, WHAT!? SHE'S FREAKING SAKURA! THAT'S HER WORSE ENEMY? CARS!?!!?

Now there are like 7 different versions of Sakura running around. Sayoran from Tsubasa is apparently the same person as Watanuki or something. Sayoran from Tsubasa is also apparently a different Sakura's son, but he also loves the Sakura from his own dimension which they're all trying to save and-

Arg, forget it, I get annoyed just trying to make sense of what CLAMP did with the stories. I may give the xxxHolic anime a try sometime if they didn't put the Tsubasa crap into it.

Edited post line, new recommendations here.

Not sure if you're into more "thought arousing" series. No, I don't mean it's hard to get or you have to think DEEPLY to understand them or anything, but not everything is answered in them and they address some pretty interesting themes. They require you to think a bit to really enjoy them, since they don't answer everything for you or hold your hand along the way.

If you're into that stuff, Mononoke (not to be confused with Princess Mononoke, even if that was a nice movie), Kaiba, and Serial Experiments Lain (you may not like, it's akin to Eva a bit, but it doesn't hurt to give it a try). Bakemonogatari kinda fits this as well, though it's a lot easier to get the others I mentioned in this section.

I'd say go for Mononoke first if you've never tried thought arousing series before. It's a very unique series that can easily be finished in a day or two. It's nice even without thinking about it, but at the end of each arc you'll usually be wanting to think into it more.

Yeah, it was in the manga. I believe the anime ended around volume 6 of the manga or so, I didn't watch it myself so I'm just estimating. The plot got molested around Volume 14 or so.

Well, she certainly has the trains, but the series isn't focused on her cute aspects. Moe is used more for personality attributes rather than physical attributes. Hmm, watching Hidamari Sketch (slice of life comedy with very cutesy characters) or something may get the point across better.

By the way, if you ever get interested into downloading your anime rather than streaming you can PM me. I'd post the link here, but I'd imagine posting a link to a torrent site that has some licensed series would fall under Warez rule on the site.

For now I guess I could link here. Boxtorrents takes off licensed series from their site, so finding some older stuff may give you some problems.

Or, if you're not interested in torrenting, I have a directdownload site as well.
