Seriously... i've heard about it being good/bad, but IMO its AWESOME O_o

In a nutshell its like...

First half of the episode: everyone is yay!
Second half: OH pomegranate thats messed up

rinse and repeat for the whole first season...

That's all Code Geass is. Kind of a trainwreck, but it was a fun ride.

This is true. Rolo was shwiggity whack. Nina was friggity shwiggity whack. Cheese-kun, Arthur, CC, Orange, and Lloyd rocked things.
I'm also with Felix. It is a terribly fun show, but I'm troubled by the fact that through the power of democracy, S2 ranks higher than Spirited Away on ANN.

Still, props to Geass for being the first show to get me to keep up with a new show on a weekly basis rather than wait for all of it to air and watch at once.

I liked Geass. Thought it was a bit overrated I guess, but I guess that's because /a/ was spammed with Geass every single second when it aired. Came to the point where Moot changed it into /Code Geass/ for a week, because that's basically what it was. At least before when there was a popular series, it'd stick to 1-3 thread or so, but since then people saw it as okay to spam the board with nothing but the same series.

This is where a lot of hate generated from for the series. Well, obviously not in all anime communities, and I'm obviously not saying it's a masterpiece that could never be hated or anything. The first season was better than the second in my book, but I'm not sure if you're up to it yet so won't spoil anything for you.

I enjoyed Code Geass along its ride though. Still never got around to re-watching it though, which I've planned to at some time. I always re-watch series that I was quite fond of, at one point or another.

I don't see the connection between Gurren Lagann and Code Geass aside from mechs. They're completely different series with completely different themes to them. Though, that's not to say Gurren Lagann isn't a good series. Hell, I'm wearing a Pika-Lagann shirt right now and have a Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann figure on top of my computer desk looking at me right now.

Just don't see the recommendation connection between them.

I have a wide variety of anime below my belt, so I'm sure to find something in the genre of your choice, since I'm into lots of crap. Want comedy? A specific kind of comedy? Action? Slice of life? Serious? Gag/parody show? Romance? General cuteness show? Mech? One with a good story? Mystery? Horror? Something that doesn't really tell you the answers fully and needs you to think a bit?

Watched excel saga, slayers, db/z/gt, sailor moon (don't ask... i was young >_>), ermm, pretty much of the "old" anime... gundam wing too... forgot which one but i know i watched it.. FMA, Brotherhood... hmm bokurano (didn't like it), Vandread 2nd stage... cannot remember more...
