DualReaver Wrote:I highly doubt that all of these classes will use a combo system.
I see the classes being...
Aran
Battle Mage (who uses swords)
Dagger using Thief reinvented
Knuckle Pirate (but does other cool pomegranate than transform)
Bowman (no idea on this one)
Eh, then I don't see why implement it just for Aran.
I'd prefer to see combo battle mages.
KaidaTan Wrote:Possible exception of Strikers and Buccs, but that's just my opinion.
I'd disagree on that; Strikers are only marginally better in 1v1 with SE, and that's pretty meaningless since there's not a lot of situations where you'd have a Striker partied with a 4th job archer. If you do bring a Striker to Zak for some reason, the 20% damage reduction pretty much cancels out any advantage they might have had. Dragon Strike owns Shark Wave, Buccs have better mob control with Backspin and more options when attacking and Time Leap, an awesome skill for bossing. Plus like you said there's the whole actually being able to pass 120 thing.

The only reason I could think of that only Arans would have it is if they give each of these classes a "Gimmick"
Arans would be combos, these could be the dragons and the others would have something else.
Though I do also hope all these classes use the combo system as I really like it. I would also be really interested in seeing how they tackle a proper ranged combo class in the future like a bowman.

I guess I'm used to having SE everywhere. I've had it on this character since early 7x, and I've had it on pretty much every single boss run I've ever been on.
A little off-topic
I would argue that Shark Wave isn't dismissed as a bad skill so easily. A Striker is doing an average of 1.2*(270+(1*0.4))=372% damage per monster on Shark Wave, not including Sparks or its ability to crit. Shark Wave is a good 270ms faster than Dragon Strike and has 200 more range. I submit that a Striker doesn't really need options when he can stand on one end of a platform, use Shark Wave a few times, and go to the next platform.
Whereas even at 150 the best option most Buccs have for dealing with mobs is to Dragon Strike and Corkscrew or Backspin. They have to be pretty much inside their mobs (not that they get hit much anyway) and even then they still can't hit all 6 with anything but Dragon Strike until they start putting points into Energy Orb at 17x.
As far as single-target goes... well here's this.
Screw it, I don't feel like writing equations right now. Suffice it to say that Barrage + 2Drain (with SE) makes for a better damage than a 140 Bucc could possibly do, even at Zakum.
I'm a little disappointed that more classes won't have the combo system, at this rate. I really like it. I'm hoping the others will have something equally cool. I don't know what more they could do after Aran, though. Aran had all its bases covered with a good combo-induced crit, Archer-style weapon expertise, an element, and some pretty damn nice party skills. I guess that's why I'm not a game designer, though. I can't wait to see what else happens~
Tay is right. Those were added. That is very strange...! Didn't see that. Lemme get a listing of all of the quests.
EDIT: Quests pulled from GMS. All of these quests have "2218" set as an acceptable job. Good work, Tay.

Ramain's Amazing Skills
NOT COMPLETED:
I was finally able to learn the "Maker" skill through Meren. Awesome!! Does this mean I can make something right now from scratch? But... where should I start? While I was standing there not knowing what to do, that was when a man came up to me to tell me something. That man happened to be Meren's friend and a legend in the field of making Monster Crystal, Ramain.
IN PROGRESS:
Ramain works with Meren and happens to be known as the master of producing Monster Crystals. He's a nice fellow, but his stuttering makes him really hard to understand. Anyway, after watching me being unsure of myself what to do with the skill, he offered to teach me how to produce a Monster Crystal. He then asked me to make one right there on the spot...
Basic Monster Crystal 1 0 / 1
COMPLETED:
Ramain, the master of producing Monster Crystals who is Meren's coworker, taught me how to produce a Monster Crystal. It was a bit difficult to understand him due to his constant stuttering, but it was very helpful. Then, he asked me to make one right there on the spot, challenging me to make 1 Basic Monster Crystal 1, the easiest Monstery Crystal to make. After making one, Ramain took a look at it, and commended me for my effort. Hah! Does this mean I can be considered an Item Producer now?

Apparently, he wasn't very pleased with Meren that he was willing to divulge his item-making secrets to everyone, regardless of the skill level. Keol asked me to make a pair of shoes for him... that even a Level 1 can make with ease. Seriously... does he think that low of me? Fine, I'll make the finest pair of those he'll ever see!
Practice Shoes #b0 / 1

Keol asked me to make a pair of shoes for him... that even a Level 1 can make with ease. Seriously... does he think that low of me? But even after seeing my work, Keol just dismissed it as little more than adequate. He also commented that I'll need lots of practice, and gave me a measly Basic Enhancement Gem. I don't like this guy... and I definitely don't like his attitude.

Meren's New Discovery
NOT COMPLETED: Magatia is the land where Alcadnos and Zenumists form an uneasy truce in... one day, a news exploded in the Maple World where an alchemist from Zenumist, Meren, discovered a new method that will change the way alchemy works. Meren was also looking for a capable apprentice that will spread his work to mainstream, and this caused a huge number of people to head over to Magatia...\r
He's apparently staying at Arm and Armor Store of Magatia, which is a town of alchemists at Nihal Desert.
IN PROGRESS:
After spending a number of years conducting experiments, #bMeren, an alchemist under Zenumist Society, finally discovered a new method of producing items, where the item can be created solely out of alchemy. To learn his new method, I visited Meren. He said in order to acquire this new method, I'll have to take three classes... the fundamentals of alchemy, the basic theory of science, and the actual application of alchemy...Sheesh, when can I attend all those classes?

Meren's Second Round of Teaching
NOT COMPLETED:
I think I have gotten quite familiar with producing items, and I am sure Meren would be shocked to see my prowess in it. Right at that time, Meren called me and told me if I ever had anything to do in Magatia, make sure to stop by and see him.
IN PROGRESS:
I wound up heading to Magatia after seeing Meren's message. As soon as I saw him, however, instead of a hearty hug, he gave me a huge scolding. Apparently, he saw one of the items I made at the Free Market, and he was so disgusted by my poor quality of work that he vowed to set me straight by giving me a test.
The test is actually making an Intermediate Monster Crystal. Hmmm... this is quite intense.

What Meren Dropped

IN PROGRESS:
Meren had been devoting all of his time to creating a new item. When I visited him at Magatia, he seemed so into his work that he didn't even realize I was there, and kept on mumbling illegible things. That's whn I noticed something dropped behind his back. What is that?
COMPLETED:
I visited Meren at a lab in Magatia, but he seemed very much into his work that he didn't notice me wakling in. That's when I noticed a piece of paper dropped from behind his back. The note contained a whole bunch of notes. What does it say?

I've got nothing against the guy, whether for or against. He's another unpacker like me, and sometimes he notices things I don't which is a normal thing that happens. I don't care if people talk about him. I've probably said otherwise in the past, but attitudes change.
#1. Aran (Polearm Warrior Hero Class)
#2. Thief (dagger) Hero Class
#3. Mage Hero Class
#4. Pirate Hero Class
#5. Archer (Bow) Hero Class
Looks pretty clear to me.
No, I was thinking about it and this is wrong.
From what we know these mages will use swords, one handed swords, and what is number two using? And what is the next class that is being released after Aran?
Someone said they're going in order (Warrior, Mage, Thief, Bowman and Pirate) and I believe they're right.
The weapon number three is using doesn't have to be a staff, it could also be a spear, or a new weapon all together. The Thief class could use spears as a weapon, it could even throw spears as a weapon.
MetaSeraphim Wrote:The weapon number three is using doesn't have to be a staff, it could also be a spear, or a new weapon all together. The Thief class could use spears as a weapon, it could even throw spears as a weapon.

Javelin class? `-`
Funny you should say that because I was just thinking about how Thieves are related to agility and how Dragoons (who use spears) are also about agility. The Thief Legend could be a Dragoon who uses his spear to lift himself and monsters into the air.
