[1.2.265] New mage class!
#81
I'm thinking once this class gets released, it will be prudent to do the Training Center changes that people want, except the sub-boards will be:

Adventurer
Cygnus
Legendary

I'm sticking with Aran. One less person in your category Cool

Seems like a generation of Supermen are deriving from Adventurers. Exciting. xD

Am I the only one that wants to stay with an Aran?

Although this new class does seem interesting.

Since it appears to be a mage, I do not have high hopes. We'll see though when it comes out. We'll see. . .

I think it's more accurate to say adventurers are derived from these ancient legendary heroes and we're using evolved/degraded versions of their skills. We're just coincidentally finding and unsealing them just in time for the battle with the black magician.

Suddenly arans doesnt like to be interesting anymore... Wink

its strange that everyone assumes its riding a dragon and not onesself transforming into a dragon to fight.... you can only wear the equips in your transformed state (goes into a transformed equip set that stays equiped but doesn't figure into stats unless transformed)

Sorry I didn't read the whole thread; comments regarding Fiel's OP:

  1. Isn't this class an additional subclass of the Magician "branch?" Notice how the equips are all labeled "Magician Only" like any other "branch" of equips. Adding to the evidence the fact that the class uses INT/LUK AP stats, I believe this class will be a fourth subclass of the Magician branch.
  2. If everything I theorized above is true, then it's been a good game F/Ps and I/Ls, because if Nexon finally came around to making a "BattleMage" class that is the Magician representative on the single-target DPS field, ArchMages honestly have nothing left to offer. Of course, until mobbing becomes an integral part of some aspect of the game other than training.

I don't understand what you're getting at. Blaze Wizards still use INT/LUK and standard magician equips, and they're not a Magician branch subclass the way you're referring to.

Considering the fact that arans can mob really f'uckin well, these probably will too.

Whether up to par with the old mages is yet to be seen.

I'm pretty sure that while this hero is categorized as a Magician in the data, it is not a fourth mage subclass. The "Magician" part is likely for identifying the hero as a Mage-type character, and for allowing this hero to wield the same kinds of equipment that the Adventurer Mages can.

I think they did the same thing with the Aran (what with the Arans able to use Warrior equipment and all). Only difference there is that I'm pretty sure Arans don't have any Aran-only equipment like what this hero potentially has with these new types of equips.

BombsAway Wrote:I think the idea behind this is to make a large mix for the "final" battle against the black magician. One where you will need every ounce of strength and the skills of every job.

God knows the current jobs alone aren't up to it; can't even beat a jelly bean.

They can beat the jelly bean, just not the timer.

The timer is part of the challenge just like all of the statues and the actual bean. I doubt the Black Magician will be much different in that regard.

Why they gave pink been a timer that low in the first place confuses me.

All of the equipment is labeled "Magician Only" because they're of class type "2" in the files, signifying a magician. Those equips being of class type 2 means that any magician can equip them and does not necessarily make them part of the Explorer Magician class or subclasses in the same way that Dawn Warrior or Aran have nothing to do with Heroes or Paladins.

Class type in the files applies to all mages of any superclass (Explorer, Cygnus). Your theory doesn't hold. Chin

If I am correct, the new folder in Skill.wz will be 2200 or 3200. If you are correct, the new folder will be 240. We'll see in due time.

One more thing. The swords that the other guy was talking about are 1H swords as classified by the ID numbers for the strings in the data. This means that this magician can wield both a sword and shield, assuming, of course, that the addition of these strings are in any way related to the new magician class.

Seeing as how the storyline given says there were five, it's all be categorized under the 2000's because they're all mingled together in a story plot. Just as Cygnus Knights were.

I'm kind of thinking they will rename job 2000 and make it a basic beginner class for these new races.

2000 : Beginner
2100 - 2121 : Aran
2200 - 2212 : Magician
2300 - 2312 : Archer
2400 - 2412 : Thief
2500 - 2512 : Pirate

Making every single race an ice warrior will be pretty lame though.

I agree. Though... what else could they have used? :/ DARKNESS. lol

Then again, wouldn't making a new Beginner class also mean having to change the story line just a bit? No maybe not. It could still play out the same way. But... hm... the beginning tutorial would have to be changed. I don't know, I need to quit thinking now.
