Need to make transparent avatar

Can someone help me make this transparent for my avatar? When I upload it or link, the background is white, but, as you can see, its transparent here.

Resize it first. If you let it autoresize the image for you, it'll remove the transparency.

You need to make it 125x125.

Optimization services on some image hosting sites strip some of the coolness out of image files. Sworn enemies of APNGs.

If you can, just tell the hosting site to shove it up the ass and take it as it is.

What I do is upload a pic on http://www.iaza.com, go to transparent, then click the area I want transparent. Just make sure you clicked an area that doesn't color match with other parts or you will get unwanted transparency, so try to make the part you want transparent a different color from everything else.
