One of the popular origins of the word "meme" comes from Richard Dawkins' book The Selfish Gene. Memes are supposed to be a sort of reproductive unit of words similar to genes, so I've always said them like each other. You wouldn't say gene "ge-ne", would you? :f6:

You guys are all wrong. Meme is pronounce like Mi Mi. It is phrased after the Chinese word for 'secret', which is 秘密(mìmì
 . The Chinese wanted to be humorous, and derived the word 'meme' from 秘密. A secret that turns into a cultural icon. Hilarious, am I right?Oh, the Chinese. So clever and funny.
