Opeth's tips for unwashed Papulatus soloing

How much dmg does touching pap give you? I plan to solo him soon, and i have 3.5k hp.

Pap does 3.2k max touch, while the bottom bombs can go over 4k.

My first attempt was a failure. I got raped at the second body while taking 40 minutes to take down the 1st body (keep in mind that i have a REALLY SHITTY damage)

40 mins for some reason, to me, sounds rather quick, even with bad damage.

Very nice guide. I think I might try soloing him again sometime, when I feel like wasting a few million on potions.

Oh wait, second form will rape me until I get some puppet lol. Could I manage it with 6 points?

I'm lvl 130? With a 1650-2600 range. Pretty shitty to me. I got 10 SE and 10 SoA tho.

May I ask why you're so close to Pap?

I noticed you almost maxed bombs, but still doesn't explain why you're so close to him. Unless you're unable to pin him yet?

Nope, I'm not able to pin him at all. I got stunned twice a row and a bomb boomed on me :[

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Right when the bombs get maxed, I got stunned and bombed AGAIN. Bad luck. I'm sure I can do it..

level: 125

potions used: 6 chews, 111 sorcerer elixers, 247 barbarian elixers, 315 pops.

attempt #: 4

skills: 13 se, 1 mastery rest doesnt matter

hp: 3.4k

range with chew: around ~3600

% of kb: around 1% kb >.> doesnt help at all relyed on puppet all the time

drops: none, duh

couldnt have done it without Puppet

I think I'm the first one on this forum that soloed pap without KB and couldnt survive a bomb hit.

I'm so happy

Congrats. It sure is a nice accomplishment.

Though, there were plenty of Archers to solo Pap pre-4th job (myself included) and that was when KBing Pap was more of a dream.

A very usefull tip that Opeth should add in the first post - Keep your sound on (Without the music, only sound) It's VERY helpfull.

Here are some tips:
-Use ciders from Showa to help knockback- 20att pot for 3min for 1k meso
-Wear HP gear - they're cheap and fun to make
-Kill the bombs that spawn on the ground asap if you can survive a 3.9k explosion - If they buff up, they can do upwards of 4.9k
-Always keep pap puppetized
-Don't jump
-Stay as far away from pap as possible

Here are some tips:

Bold points I've already discussed in the first post.

As for Ciders: they don't stack. Not everyone has a ton of room for them.

HP Gear: I've tried this before. Bomb explosion is a weapon attack, so even if you were to scroll enough HP to survive a bomb, you'd lose a lot of DEF and damage in the process.

Keeping Pap Puppetized: This is only good if bombs are maxed. Otherwise he's going to run you down with his bomb shields.
