Soul Driver: The Debate
#1
With the last patch, Dawn Warrior's Soul Driver skill was nerfed, in that its attacking speed was returned to the old version.

With the old version, the attack is purely show, as you stand there at alert, and the 4 swords swirl and fall.

With the new version (fast version), the swirling and falling of the 4 swords was somewhat timed to the swings of the sword, giving it a better look than just standing at alert.

So here the question, which version do you prefer? I know most are going to say the fast version as it allowed for faster training. Personally, I like the fast version for more than just the the increased training, it actually made sense that you were swinging the sword to attack, rather than standing at alert.

Well it kinda makes no sense to see DWs hopping around all over throwing swords rapidly into the sky and doing godly DPS.

We can still throw up godly DPS, and done right, it can be done jumping around the map, using Brandish. at 109, i was hitting around 2.9 mil damage a minute, broken to seconds and its still pretty impressive.

My first response when seeing the faster version was "Ok, that can't be right." I stand by that view and kind of laughs at attempts to say it was working as intended.
Watch me next patch when avenger will be as fast as hurricane and say it ain't a glitch... Rolleyes

Same. I went to a MPQ with this DW and the moment we stepped into Stage 2 all I could hear my mind saying was "This can't freaking be right."

Even though I was never aware beforehand that we actually received the faster version. I guess I know now.

I don't really play with my DW anymore, but it'd be nice if they at least brought back the old animation. It looks a lot better than this stupid sword swinging crap.

Besides it being better for training the faster Soul Driver looks and makes a lot more sense than the old one.

Getting the slower version of Soul Driver sucks because I thought the animation made more sense - you're summoning swords while attacking and the swords fall from above. It's not that it helps us train faster and basically replaces Soul Blade almost instantly...

Okay, it's partly that.

They should change it so that its somewhere in between. The old version is too slow, and the newer version was too fast.

Slow version is way better. The attack hits 4 times and is way too powerful to be the same speed as a normal attack.

Theyre not quite that powerful. Compared to Brandish, which is our main attack skill, they still hit about half the damage of 1 brandish. (based on brandish being able to 1 hit galloperas, while SD is still taking 2 hits.)

How is this even debatable? The current speed of Soul Driver is superior to the original in every way, and the only people that would disagree with it are those that feel as if they're exploiting a glitch, or are just jealous. Have we already forgotten Harrison's words of wisdom? It's not a glitch until Nexon says so.

But really now, don't complain. Soul Drivers put emphasis on what the Hero class lacked the most; mobility and mob attacks. Soul Driver plays a large role in making that apparent.

The current speed is back at the original you know. They changed it back, and that's hardly surprising.
